Overview

The Vimar VM01993 is a programming hardware interface used to configure By-me systems and to program By-me serial devices and Well-contact Plus touch screens through the BUS connection with an RJ11 jack. It is used with EasyTool Professional and Well-contact Plus configuration software during commissioning, changes, and troubleshooting.

The unit is surface-mounted and built in thermoplastic with a matt finish in white (RAL 7024 similar). With an IP20 protection rating, it belongs in a dry protected interior location on board, such as a distribution cabinet, a technical locker, or a nav-station service area rather than any space exposed to spray or washdowns.

For logistics and planning, the packed dimensions are 25 x 18.9 x 8.4 cm and packed weight is 509.7 g.

Key features
  • Programming interface for By-me serial devices and Well-contact Plus touch screens, with support for configuring a By-me BUS installation
  • Connects to the BUS via an RJ11 jack
  • Surface-mounted thermoplastic housing with a matt finish
  • IP20 protection for dry protected interior mounting locations
  • Not a KNX, KNX-RF, LON, or Powernet interface
  • No LED indication on the interface
  • Packed dimensions 25 x 18.9 x 8.4 cm; packed weight 509.7 g
Compatibility and fit

This interface is intended for Vimar By-me installations and the related Well-contact Plus touch screen family. It is a commissioning and service tool, so the main fit questions are whether your system is actually By-me and whether you have access to the BUS point that uses the RJ11 connection at the time you need to program or adjust devices.

If you are working on KNX, KNX-RF, LON, or Powernet systems, this is not the correct interface for those networks.

Installation and setup

Plan a mounting spot that stays dry and is easy to reach while commissioning, since this is typically used during setup and later service visits. Surface mounting makes it straightforward to place in a panel area or technical space where the BUS is accessible and the RJ11 connection can be made without stressing the cable.

Programming work is carried out through the supported software environment, so it helps to keep the interface reachable when you expect future changes such as device replacement, configuration updates, or adding functions during a refit.

Use cases on board

This is a good match for yards, marine electricians, and owners who maintain a vessel that already runs a By-me control system and wants a clean way to handle setup and later configuration changes. It is also useful when swapping a Well-contact Plus touch screen or making changes to By-me serial devices after new loads or controls are added.

Maintenance and care

Because the housing is rated IP20, keep it away from damp lockers, condensation-prone areas, and any place that gets washdown spray. Wipe the exterior with a dry soft cloth and store it in a clean dry place when not in use.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
