Overview
The Vimar VM01971 is a 4-relay DIN-rail actuator for low-voltage switching on board, giving you four independent change-over relay outputs (10 A) controlled through a By-me Plus bus installation. It accepts 12-24 V~ (50-60 Hz) or 12-24 V d.c. (SELV) and is intended to live inside an electrical panel where you can keep wiring tidy and serviceable.
On a boat, this is typically used to bring automation commands into real-world loads like lighting circuits, courtesy lights, solenoid valves, or other 12/24 V auxiliaries that you want to control from By-me Plus keypads, scenarios, or a central controller. Each relay is handled as its own functional block, so you can group outputs and store scene states without tying everything to one circuit.
It mounts on an EN 50022 rail and takes up 6 modules of 17.5 mm each. With IP20 protection, plan on installing it in a dry, protected enclosure away from direct washdown or spray. The housing is grey RAL 7035.
Key features
- Four change-over relay outputs rated 10 A for 12/24 V loads, including resistive loads, incandescent lamps, and LED spot lamps (20,000 cycles).
- Supply input: 12-24 V~ ±10% (50-60 Hz) or 12-24 V d.c. ±10% (SELV).
- By-me bus connection with rated bus supply voltage of 29 V for control and configuration within a By-me Plus system.
- Panel-friendly footprint: DIN rail installation on EN 50022 rail, occupying 6 x 17.5 mm modules.
- Local configuration button with per-relay green LEDs and a red status LED for commissioning and troubleshooting at the panel.
- Selectable relay behavior and timing options, including stable modes plus on and off delays.
- Tested for marine-relevant stresses including cyclic salt mist (IEC 60068-2-52) and vibration (IEC 60068-2-6).
- EMC conformity to EN 50428 and EN 55025 for cleaner integration alongside other onboard electronics.
Electrical and system integration
Power the unit with either 12-24 V AC or 12-24 V DC within the allowed tolerance, then connect it to the By-me Plus bus for control logic. Typical current draw depends on supply: 400 mA at 12 V~ (or 230 mA at 12 V d.c.) and 240 mA at 24 V~ (or 120 mA at 24 V d.c.).
Each output is a dedicated relay channel, which keeps it straightforward to split functions by circuit, by cabin zone, or by operational mode. The actuator can be assigned to scenarios and can store a relay state to be recalled when a scenario is triggered.
Installation and setup
Allow space on the DIN rail for a 6-module device and leave room for wiring bend radius and labeling. Because the enclosure protection is IP20, it belongs inside a proper panel or DIN housing where it stays out of bilge humidity, salt spray, and washdowns.
During commissioning, the front button and LEDs let you select the relay channel being configured and confirm status at a glance. Use appropriate circuit protection for the loads being switched and keep wiring practices consistent with the rest of the boat’s distribution system.
Load planning and onboard use
The 10 A rating makes it a solid fit for switching common 12/24 V circuits such as lighting runs or small auxiliaries. For motors, compressors, or other loads with high inrush, it is often cleaner to use the relay output to drive a suitably rated contactor, keeping heavy current out of the automation cabinet wiring.
This actuator is a good match for boats already built around a By-me Plus automation backbone where you want centralized, panel-based switching without scattering separate relays around the vessel.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
