Overview
The Vimar VM01845.1 is a line coupler used to connect two By-me Plus bus lines while keeping the lines electrically separated. It works on a 29 V bus supply, draws 30 mA, and mounts on a DIN 60715 TH35 (EN 50022) rail, taking up 2 DIN modules (35 mm) in your electrical cabinet.
On a boat, this is typically installed in the main distribution panel or an automation cabinet when the bus layout needs two powered sections, or when two lines need to communicate without tying the wiring together directly. The unit must be powered from both sides, so each connected line should have its own bus power available.
Key features
- Couples two By-me Plus bus lines while maintaining electrical separation between the lines
- Rated supply voltage: 29 V bus; the device must be powered from both sides
- Current draw: 30 mA
- Dissipated power: 800 mW average, 1100 mW maximum
- DIN rail mounting on DIN 60715 TH35 (EN 50022); occupies 2 modules of 17.5 mm (35 mm total)
- Filters bus traffic so only relevant messages pass between lines, with a manual routing mode available
- Configured using the View Pro app; the Function button supports reset and manual routing functions
Compatibility and fit
This coupler is intended for Vimar By-me Plus bus installations that use a 29 V bus supply. It is not a KNX, KNX-RF, or LON coupler.
Because it is a DIN device, it belongs inside a protected electrical cabinet rather than in an exposed location. Plan space for a 2-module unit and leave room for clean cable routing and strain relief, especially in high-vibration installs.
Installation and setup
Clip the unit onto a TH35 DIN rail and wire each bus side to match your system topology. In marine panels, keep bus wiring organized and supported so vibration does not work connections loose over time.
Configuration is handled through the View Pro app. The Function button provides a reset procedure and a manual mode that routes all messages, with an automatic timeout after 2 hours.
Electrical and system integration
This is a low-voltage bus device, so treat its cabling and terminations like any other SELV circuit on board. In mixed-voltage cabinets, keep mains conductors (230 V AC) physically separated from SELV wiring to reduce noise pickup and to keep the panel serviceable.
Use cases on board
Common layouts include splitting an automation backbone between zones such as salon and cabins, or joining a secondary panel into the same By-me Plus system while keeping each side independently powered. It is a practical fit for refits where the bus is being extended into a new area of the vessel and you want clearer segmentation between lines.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
