Overview
The Vimar VM01617 is a 2-pole polarized SELV plug for low-voltage circuits, rated 6A at 24V, with an axial cable entry and an integrated cord-grip.
It uses two different pin diameters, one 3 mm pin and one 4 mm pin, on a 12.4 mm centre-to-centre spacing. That polarization helps keep the connection oriented correctly when the plug is used on signal and telecommunication leads around the boat.
This plug is meant for SELV applications and is not suitable for mains AC circuits.
Key features
- 2P polarized SELV plug rated 6A / 24V for low-voltage signal and telecommunication connections
- One 3 mm pin and one 4 mm pin to maintain polarity and prevent incorrect orientation
- 12.4 mm distance between pin centres for matching the correct socket pattern
- Axial cable entry for straight, in-line cord routing where side-exit plugs would snag or bend
- Built-in cord-grip to add strain relief and reduce conductor movement from vibration
- Compatible with socket outlets 16301, 14331, 08159, and 10159
- Ivory finish for a clean match with common portable installation components
Compatibility and fit
Confirm the mating socket is the polarized 2P SELV style that accepts the 3 mm and 4 mm pins on 12.4 mm centres. The plug is intended to mate with the listed compatible socket outlets, and it will not fit standard household, shore-power, or common 12V accessory outlets.
Check your circuit load against the 6A / 24V rating, especially on runs feeding multiple devices or longer portable leads where voltage drop can become noticeable.
Installation and setup
The axial entry routes the cable straight out of the back of the plug, which helps when the lead needs to run neatly along a bulkhead, behind a panel, or through a cable pass-through. Use the cord-grip to clamp the outer jacket so the cable is supported by the plug body rather than the internal terminations.
On board, keep this type of low-voltage connection out of direct washdown spray and away from areas where water can sit. A simple drip loop on the cable run helps keep moisture from tracking into the plug or socket.
Use on board
This plug makes sense for boats using dedicated SELV signal and telecommunication connections, such as portable leads for comms-related accessories or equipment that is connected and disconnected during service. It is also a good match for tidy, keyed connections at a nav station, electronics locker, or other dry interior area where correct orientation matters.
Maintenance and care
Periodically check that the cord-grip is still tight and that the cable jacket has not pulled back. If the connection sees vibration or frequent plugging cycles, inspect the plug body and pins for looseness and clean any buildup before it becomes intermittent.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
