Compatibility and fit

This unit is meant for Vimar Plana switches and push buttons where a locator or illumination insert is supported. Before ordering, confirm the exact Plana device you are using has the provision for this style of pre-wired signalling unit and that there is enough depth behind the plate once the wiring is dressed.

Electrical and system integration

VM00931 is for mains AC circuits only within the 110-250 V range at 50/60 Hz. On boats, that typically means shore-power fed lighting circuits or an inverter-fed AC branch circuit. If your switch panel is part of a 12 V or 24 V DC system, this is not the right insert.

Installation and setup

Installation is normally done during switch assembly: power off the circuit, remove the cover plate, seat the signalling unit into the compatible switch or push button position, then route the pre-wired leads so they do not pinch when the device is fastened back into the box. In marine interiors, keep connections inside a protected enclosure and use proper terminations so vibration does not loosen the wiring over time.

Use cases on board

This is a good match for AC switch locations you want to find quickly in the dark, such as cabin lighting banks near the companionway, a nav station panel, or interior service areas where you do not want to turn on a bright overhead light.
