Overview
The Raymarine A06030 is a SeaTalkNG backbone extender that joins two blue SeaTalkNG backbone cables into one longer run, or connects a network terminator at the far end of a backbone cable where no other connection point is available.
This is the part you use when the backbone needs to reach farther across the boat without cutting or modifying existing backbone cables. It is a practical fit for refits, helm upgrades, and network expansions where displays, instruments, sensors, or autopilot components are being spread farther apart.
In a SeaTalkNG layout, the backbone is the main network run that carries data and power through the vessel. The A06030 belongs on that backbone side of the system, not on the spur side used for individual device drops.
Key features
- Joins two blue SeaTalkNG backbone cables to create a longer backbone run
- Can be used to connect a network terminator at the physical end of a backbone where no other connection point exists
- Fits SeaTalkNG backbone installations where data and network power need to continue along the vessel
- Useful when extending a network between helm, flybridge, nav station, cabin, or other separated equipment locations
- Lets you lengthen the backbone with standard SeaTalkNG cable sections instead of altering cable assemblies
Compatibility and fit
This extender is for blue SeaTalkNG backbone cables. It is not the connector used for white spur cables, so it should be matched to the backbone side of the network when you are planning cable runs and device locations.
It also helps when the final backbone layout needs a terminator at the far end of the run and there is no other backbone connector at that point. In a complete SeaTalkNG backbone, termination still belongs at the two physical ends of the overall network.
Installation and use on board
This part makes sense on boats that are adding electronics at a second helm, extending a network forward or aft, or cleaning up a refit where standard backbone cable lengths leave the run short. It solves a layout problem in a simple way and keeps the backbone arranged as a proper SeaTalkNG network.
For buyers checking fit, the key question is whether the installation needs to extend the blue backbone itself. If the goal is to add another device drop, a backbone connector block is the part to look at instead. If the goal is to join backbone sections and continue the main network run, this is the correct type of component.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
