The Blue Sea Systems 1044 is a 12V DC USB extension that brings a stereo or other onboard USB connection out to the helm or cockpit. It mounts in a 1-1/8 in. (29 mm) hole, uses a prewired 5 ft. (1.52 m) cable, and carries an IP45 rating with the cover closed.

On boats where the stereo sits inside the cabin, console, or electronics space, this gives you a practical access point at the dash instead of leaving a loose cable run exposed. The tethered cap helps keep dust and spray off the port when it is not in use.

Compatibility and fit

This is an extension point for an existing USB connection, so it suits installations where the stereo or connected device already has a compatible USB port behind the panel. The 5 ft. cable works for many helm, console, and cabin layouts, but it is still worth checking the routing path before drilling the cutout.

The round dash-mount format works well where you want a fixed USB access point at the helm without leaving the source unit exposed. In more open mounting locations, keeping the cap closed between uses helps the port stay protected from normal cockpit spray and dust.
