Overview

The Garmin 010-12224-00 is a fairing block used to level a GT30 series thru-hull scanning transducer so the transducer face sits parallel to the waterline for cleaner sonar returns. It is intended for hull mounting locations where the deadrise angle at the install point is greater than 5 degrees.

During installation the block is cut to match the measured deadrise, then shaped so it sits tight to the hull. Keep a minimum thickness of 13 mm (1/2 in.) after cutting, and do not exceed a 25 degree cut angle on the block.

This is the right part for boats where a straight thru-hull install would leave the transducer tilted. Getting the transducer level helps scanning and depth readings look more consistent when you are cruising, fishing, or checking structure at speed.

Key features
  • Levels GT30 series thru-hull scanning transducers so they run parallel to the waterline when mounted on a hull with deadrise.
  • Recommended when the deadrise angle at the mounting location exceeds 5 degrees.
  • Compatible with GT30-TH, GT30-THP, GT34UHD-TH, and GT34UHD-THP thru-hull transducers.
  • Cut and shape to match the hull; the remaining section can be used as an interior backing block.
  • Cutting guidance: maintain at least 13 mm (1/2 in.) thickness and do not cut beyond 25 degrees.
Compatibility and fit

This fairing block is for thru-hull scanning transducer installs, not transom-mount brackets. Fit is driven by the transducer model and by the deadrise angle where the stem passes through the hull, so measure at the exact spot you plan to drill.

For best results, mount the transducer where it will stay in clean, non-turbulent water. Avoid locations behind strakes, intakes, discharges, or anything that aerates the water.

Installation and setup

Plan the location before cutting the block so the transducer and fairing can be aligned parallel to the keel. On single-drive boats, keep the transducer out of the propeller path; on twin-drive boats, a position between the drives is commonly used when possible.

After cutting and shaping the block, dry-fit everything and confirm the transducer sits square. Apply marine sealant so you get a watertight seal between the fairing block and the hull, and clean up excess sealant on the exterior so water flow stays smooth across the face.

Maintenance and care

During haul-outs, inspect the sealant line and the fairing-to-hull contact area for gaps or damage. Keep the exterior clean of growth and paint buildup that can disturb water flow over the transducer.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
