Overview
The Vimar VM00114.B is a line-end 1-pole, normally open (NO) rocker pushbutton for flat cable, meant to sit on a flexible cord so you can add a momentary control point without a wall plate.
It is rated 250 V AC with a nominal current of 2 A (marked 2[16]A) and is listed for loads up to 500 W, which keeps it in the lane for small loads and control wiring on board. The matte white thermoplastic body is halogen-free and blends in well in cabins and nav stations.
Because this style of cord switch is not a sealed deck control, plan to place it where it stays dry and is not getting direct washdowns. It works best when the cord is supported so the switch is not carrying the weight of the cable run.
Key features
- Line-end flexible-cord pushbutton for flat cable runs
- 1-pole, normally open (NO) momentary contact with a rocker-style actuator
- Electrical rating: 250 V AC, 2 A nominal; marked 2[16]A
- Load range listed up to 500 W
- Thermoplastic housing with a matte white finish; halogen-free material
- White color matched to RAL 9003 (similar)
Compatibility and fit
This pushbutton is made for flat cable terminations on portable cords. Check that your cable profile and thickness match the internal channel and that you have enough slack to route the cable into the housing without sharp bends.
The contact is normally open and momentary. It closes only while you are pressing the rocker, so it fits horn or bell triggers, relay coils, and control inputs rather than on-off switching.
Installation and setup
Disconnect power at the source, then fit the flat cable into the cord channel and clamp it so the conductors cannot pull out under vibration. Leave a small service loop so the cable is not under tension when the button is pressed.
After wiring, confirm that the rocker returns freely and that the cable jacket is doing the strain relief work, not the copper conductors. Mount it inboard or under a coaming where it is protected from spray and UV.
Electrical and system notes
Use the pushbutton within its 250 V AC, 2 A rating and protect the circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection. For higher-current loads, use the button as a control signal and let a relay or contactor carry the load.
Use on board
On boats it is commonly fitted on portable or semi-portable cabin lighting cords, chart table task lights, or other small accessories where you want a quick momentary control at hand level.
This is a good match for refits that need a compact cord-end pushbutton on a flat cable run, especially in interior spaces where you want a clean look without cutting in a bulkhead switch.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
