Overview

The Simrad 000-13337-001 is a NAC-2 VRF Core Pack that bundles the NAC-2 autopilot computer, a Precision-9 compass sensor, and a Micro-C NMEA 2000 backbone starter kit for outboard and sterndrive boats up to 10 m (35 ft).

This is the below-decks core of a Simrad autopilot system. Add a drive unit that matches your steering system and run control from a Simrad autopilot controller or a compatible Simrad multifunction display over the NMEA 2000 network.

The NAC-2 is built around 12/24 V DC systems and can drive low-current pumps and drives up to 8 A continuous (12 A peak). Precision-9 connects on the NMEA 2000 backbone and supplies heading and rate-of-turn data with ±2° heading accuracy after calibration, with an IPX7 rating that supports exposed mounting when that suits the boat.

Key features
  • Core pack format with NAC-2 autopilot computer, Precision-9 sensor, and Micro-C NMEA 2000 backbone hardware in one box
  • Recommended for outboard and sterndrive installations up to 10 m (35 ft)
  • Virtual Rudder Feedback support for simplified installs where a mechanical rudder feedback sensor is impractical
  • NAC-2 drive capability for low-current hydraulic pumps, mechanical drives, hydraulic linear drives, and solenoid valves (8 A continuous, 12 A peak)
  • Precision-9 outputs heading and rate-of-turn plus pitch and roll over NMEA 2000, with ±2° heading accuracy after calibration
  • Ingress ratings that suit real boat environments: NAC-2 rated IPX5 and Precision-9 rated IPX7
What’s included
  • NAC-2 autopilot computer
  • Precision-9 compass sensor
  • Micro-C backbone kit with network power cable, 4.5 m network cable, three T-connectors, and two 120 ohm network terminators
Compatibility and fit

This core pack is intended for outboard and sterndrive (inboard/outboard) steering systems and is commonly paired with low-current drive pumps and compact mechanical or linear drives. It also supports rudder feedback sensor inputs for steering systems that require physical feedback.

Network integration is NMEA 2000 via Micro-C connectors. If your boat already has an NMEA 2000 backbone, the included hardware can be used to expand it or to build a dedicated backbone for the autopilot and tie it into the existing network.

Installation and setup

Plan for a protected below-deck mounting location for the NAC-2, away from bilge water and with room to route the drive wiring and network cabling cleanly. Keep drive wiring runs sensible for voltage drop, and separate high-current drive wiring from sensitive signal and network cabling where possible.

Precision-9 placement matters for heading quality. Mount it where it will see minimal magnetic disturbance from engines, speakers, tool storage, and high-current cabling, and allow about 500 mm (1.7 ft) compass-safe separation. Once installed, the guided compass calibration and auto-tuning routines handle most of the setup work during dockside checks and sea trial.

Use on board

This setup suits skippers who want a networked autopilot foundation for coastal runs and day trips, with control at the helm through a dedicated pilot controller or a Simrad display. It is also a practical starting point for fishing boats and small cruisers where steady course-keeping helps during long transits and when running a consistent track.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
