Installation and setup
Plan the mounting location for clean water flow at speed and enough interior clearance to access the retaining nut and cable routing. A 95 mm (3-3/4 in) hole is a large cutout, so many installs are handled during haul-out with careful measuring, proper bedding, and attention to corrosion control for a bronze fitting in a saltwater environment.
Once installed, route the 39 ft cable away from ignition wiring and high-current runs where practical, then secure it so it cannot chafe in bilges or rigging tubes. After the first few trips, recheck the inside nut area and the seal for any sign of weeping.
