Overview
The Jabsco 1673-Series is a flexible impeller kit for servicing compatible Jabsco self-priming pumps used in marine water transfer, engine cooling, bilge, and general pump applications. The impeller uses a 12-blade profile with spline drive, a brass insert, and dimensions of 2-1/4 in diameter x 1-1/4 in width x 5/8 in shaft size.
This kit is offered in two material versions so the replacement can match the fluid being moved. Neoprene is the common choice for fresh water, salt water, and engine cooling service, while nitrile is used where the water may be heavily contaminated with oil or diesel.
Key features
- Replacement flexible impeller kit for compatible Jabsco 1673-Series self-priming pumps.
- 12-blade impeller profile helps maintain steady pumping action in bronze flexible impeller pump housings.
- Spline drive with brass insert matches pumps that use the 2-1/4 in x 1-1/4 in x 5/8 in impeller format.
- Available in neoprene for fresh water, salt water, and engine cooling duties.
- Available in nitrile for bilge and transfer jobs where water may contain oil or diesel.
- Useful as a planned service spare for cruising boats, fishing boats, workboats, and auxiliary engine cooling systems.
Variants
This impeller kit is offered in two material configurations for the same general replacement format.
The material is the main difference between the variants. The 12-blade layout, spline drive, brass insert, and 2-1/4 in x 1-1/4 in x 5/8 in sizing remain the same across the listed configurations.
- 1210-0001-P: Material Neoprene. This version suits typical marine water service, including fresh water, salt water, and engine cooling applications where only small traces of oil or diesel may be present.
- 1210-0003-P: Material Nitrile. This version suits bilge and transfer use where the pumped water may be heavily contaminated with oil or diesel.
Compatibility and fit
Before installation, compare the removed impeller to the replacement by diameter, width, shaft size, drive type, and blade count. The correct fit is important because a flexible impeller depends on close contact with the pump cam and housing to prime and move water properly.
This is a practical service item for boat owners maintaining Jabsco flexible impeller pumps in cooling, bilge, and utility systems. It is especially useful to keep aboard when access to parts is limited during a trip or offshore run.
Installation and service
Install the impeller with the pump isolated and the engine or pump drive secured against accidental start-up. Inspect the cover plate, gasket surface, cam, and pump housing while the pump is open, and replace damaged sealing parts before putting the system back into service.
Flexible impellers should not be run dry. After installation, confirm that the seacock or supply line is open, the pump is primed as required, and water flow is visible at the discharge before normal operation.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
