Overview
The TACO Marine BP-150BSY-320-1 is a pair of Grand Slam backing plates for adding support at the base of TACO Grand Slam outrigger mounts. Each plate measures 5" wide by 6.5" long, with 1/4" anodized aluminum construction and a 320 Grit Brite anodized finish.
These plates are used when installing Grand Slam outriggers through a T-top, hard top, or gunnel where the mounting area needs extra reinforcement against outrigger torque. They slide over the mount bases and match the existing base hole pattern, so the installation does not require drilling additional holes when used with the compatible Grand Slam mount pattern.
Key features
- Made for TACO Grand Slam outrigger installations where extra base support is needed on a T-top, hard top, or gunnel.
- Compatible with GS-280, GS-2801, GS-380, and GS-390 Grand Slam mount bases.
- 5" x 6.5" plate size gives added load distribution at the mounting point.
- 1/4" anodized aluminum construction helps the plates handle marine use and exposure.
- Matches the existing Grand Slam base hole pattern, so no additional drilling is required for compatible installations.
- 320 Grit Brite anodized finish gives the installation a clean appearance around the outrigger base.
- Sold as a pair for port and starboard outrigger mounting points.
Installation and setup
These backing plates are a practical fit for center consoles and fishing boats running Grand Slam outriggers on hard tops or gunnels. The plate sits at the outrigger mount base to spread load across a larger area, helping reduce stress on the mounting surface when the outriggers are extended.
Before installation, confirm that the existing outrigger mount is one of the compatible Grand Slam models and that the mounting surface has enough flat area for a 5" x 6.5" backing plate. As with any outrigger hardware, check fastener condition and mounting surface integrity before final tightening.
Compatibility and fit
This pair is intended for TACO Grand Slam outrigger mount bases, including GS-280, GS-2801, GS-380, and GS-390. It is a good match for anglers who already run or are installing Grand Slam outriggers and want added support at the base without changing the existing hole pattern.
Materials and finish
The 1/4" anodized aluminum plate construction gives the backing area more structure while keeping the part suitable for exposed marine mounting locations. The 320 Grit Brite anodized finish also helps the plates blend with polished or anodized hardware commonly found on T-tops and fishing boat rigging.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
