Overview
The Garmin 010-10327-00 is a P79 adjustable in-hull transducer that delivers traditional sonar depth readings at 50 kHz or 200 kHz through a Garmin 6-pin connection. It runs a 600 W depth-only element and uses a 45° beamwidth at 50 kHz and a 12° beamwidth at 200 kHz, with depth performance to 305 m (1000 ft) and 183 m (600 ft) respectively.
This style of transducer mounts inside the hull and shoots through solid fiberglass, so there is no fitting sticking out below the boat. The base is bonded to the inside of the hull, then filled with propylene glycol or non-toxic antifreeze to create a consistent acoustic path between the transducer and the fiberglass.
It is a good match when you want dependable depth for cruising, fishing, or running offshore without drilling a hole for a thru-hull, especially on trailered boats or hulls that see lifts and beaching.

Compatibility and fit
This transducer is meant to shoot through solid fiberglass. It will not perform correctly through cored fiberglass sections, wood, or metal hulls, and it can struggle in spots where the laminate has trapped air or voids.
Choose a mounting area that stays in clean water while underway and is away from strakes, steps, through-hulls, or anything else that introduces bubbles under the hull. A quiet, wet section of the bilge forward of the engine room is often where installations succeed.
Installation and setup
The base is aligned to the keel, sealed to the hull, and left to cure before it is filled with the coupling liquid and the transducer is locked into place. The locking ring has angle ribs that help you match the hull angle so the transducer sits level when installed.
Route the cable where it stays above bilge water, protect it with grommets at any pass-through, and keep it separated from high-current wiring where practical to reduce noise on the sounder.
On-board use
50 kHz is commonly used when you are trying to hold bottom in deeper water with a wider cone, while 200 kHz tightens the cone under the boat for more precise depth under the keel in shallower water.
This setup fits owners who want straightforward depth information for coastal cruising, offshore runs, and fishing, and who prefer an inside-the-hull installation that leaves the outside of the boat smooth.
