Overview

The Simrad 000-15943-001 is a Verado autopilot hose and fitting kit for Simrad MKII hydraulic pumps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. It uses Verado O-Ring Face Seal (ORFS) fittings and includes pre-made hydraulic hoses, with 1/4 in. hoses rated up to 3000 PSI and a 3/8 in. return hose rated up to 2250 PSI.

This kit is meant for installations where you are plumbing an MKII autopilot pump into a Verado steering system and want a known hose layout without building hoses on the bench or terminating lines in the field. The included tees and hose lengths help keep the install tidy and consistent in tight bilge or transom rigging spaces.

Key features
  • Compatibility with Simrad MKII hydraulic pumps 1 through 5 for Verado steering autopilot plumbing
  • Verado ORFS fitting style for a proper seal on systems that use O-Ring Face Seal connections
  • Pre-made hose set with specified lengths to reduce routing guesswork during pump integration
  • Hose ratings suited to steering hydraulics: 1/4 in. lines up to 3000 PSI and a 3/8 in. return line up to 2250 PSI
  • Includes stainless 9/16 in. ORFS tee fittings and a brass tee fitting that transitions between 11/16 in. and 9/16 in. ORFS sizes
Compatibility and fit

This kit is for Verado steering systems that use ORFS connections and for installs using Simrad MKII pumps 1 to 5. Before ordering, confirm your steering hardware matches the included ORFS sizes (9/16 in. and 11/16 in.) and that your planned pump location can accommodate the provided hose lengths.

If your boat uses a different steering hose standard or a non-MKII pump generation, the fittings and hose ends may not match your system.

Installation and setup

The hoses are intended to be routed and supported like any steering hydraulic line: keep them clear of sharp edges, secure them against vibration, and avoid hot engine surfaces. After plumbing, the steering system must be properly bled and checked for leaks under normal steering loads before heading out.

This kit is a good match for owners adding autopilot control to Verado steering where clean ORFS plumbing and consistent routing matters, especially on boats where service access is tight once the rigging is buttoned up.

What’s included

  • 2 x 1/4 in. hoses, 3000 PSI max, 380 mm (15 in.), 9/16 in. ORFS to 9/16 in. ORFS
  • 1 x return hose, 3/8 in., 2250 PSI max, 390 mm (15.4 in.), 11/16 in. ORFS to 11/16 in. ORFS
  • 2 x tee connectors, stainless, 9/16 in. ORFS
  • 1 x tee connector, brass, 11/16 in. ORFS x 11/16 in. ORFS x 9/16 in. ORFS
Maintenance and care

Recheck fittings after the first few runs, then inspect periodically for weeping at connections, hose chafe, and corrosion on exposed fittings. If you see abrasion or swelling in any hose section, replace the affected line before it turns into a steering leak.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
