Overview
The TACO Marine F31-0770BSA-1 is a kite fishing three-rod cluster that lets you run multiple kite fishing outfits from a single standard gunnel mount rod holder. It has a 15 degree bent shaft for clearance, a 1-3/4 inch rod holder I.D., and a three-holder layout that keeps rods grouped in a practical position while the spread is active.
The cluster measures 24-1/2 inches high by 20 inches wide and is made from aluminum with a BSA Silver Brite Dip finish. A form-fitted white PVC liner helps protect the rods where they sit in the holders, while the gimbal locks onto a standard 1/4 inch pin inside the boat’s rod holder for a more secure fit.
This setup makes sense for anglers who kite fish from center consoles, sportfish boats, and other offshore fishing platforms where cockpit space, line control, and fast rod access matter. It is sold individually and includes a storage bag for easier handling when the cluster is not in use.
Key features
- Three-rod cluster lets multiple kite fishing rods work from one gunnel mount rod holder.
- 15 degree bent shaft adds clearance and helps position the rods where they are easier to manage.
- Fits standard gunnel mount rod holders with a secure gimbal design for placement on a standard 1/4 inch pin.
- Aluminum construction with BSA Silver Brite Dip finish suits the exposed deck and cockpit areas common on fishing boats.
- Form-fitted white PVC liner helps reduce direct contact between the rod and metal holder surface.
- 24-1/2 inch height, 20 inch width, and 1-3/4 inch rod holder I.D. give buyers key fit details before installation.
- Sold as a single cluster with a storage bag included.
- Backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
This rod cluster drops into an existing standard gunnel mount rod holder, so there is no separate permanent base to install for normal use. Before use, check that the receiving rod holder has the standard internal pin needed for the gimbal to lock into place and that the surrounding gunwale area has enough room for the 20 inch wide cluster.
The bent shaft is useful when clearance is tight around covering boards, coaming pads, nearby rod holders, or cockpit hardware. As with any multi-rod setup, the boat’s rod holder and mounting surface should be in sound condition before loading the cluster with fishing outfits.
Use on board
For kite fishing, this cluster keeps three outfits close together so the crew can manage baits, lines, and rod tips from one station instead of spreading rods across several holders. That can make cockpit movement cleaner during offshore runs, live-bait fishing, and busy bites where fast access matters.
The removable format also helps on boats that switch between trolling, bottom fishing, cruising, and kite fishing. The cluster can be stowed in the included bag when the cockpit needs to be cleared for another setup.
