Overview
The Garmin Spy Pole is a motorized sonar control pole mount for positioning LiveScope and GT360UHD transducers independently from the trolling motor. It gives anglers a controlled way to scan structure, follow fish and keep sonar aimed where it matters without constantly moving the boat.
The system is available in 42 inch and 49 inch shaft lengths, with configurations offered with or without GT360UHD 360 sonar. It runs on a 10 to 45 Vdc input range, uses a 2 m power cable, includes an 8 A fuse specification and carries an IPX7 water rating for incidental exposure to water.
For bass boats and other fishing setups using Garmin Force or Force Pro trolling motors, this mount helps separate boat control from sonar control. It can also be used with gunnel or deck mounting when the proper accessory mount is used.
Key features
- Motorized pole control lets LiveScope and GT360UHD transducers point independently from the trolling motor.
- Control options include a wireless foot control, Spy Gesture Remote and compatible Garmin chartplotter integration.
- Works with compatible Garmin Force and Force Pro scissor-style trolling motors, with gunnel or deck mounting supported through accessory hardware.
- Supports LiveScope and GT360UHD transducers for setups that need forward-looking live sonar, 360-degree sonar or both.
- Internal shaft cable routing helps keep transducer cables cleaner and more protected around the bow.
- 10 to 45 Vdc input range covers common 12V, 24V and 36V marine electrical systems when installed with the required fuse.
- IPX7 water rating suits exposed bow locations where spray, rain and incidental water contact are part of normal use.
- Depth indicator ring helps set a repeatable maximum pole depth and reduces the risk of contact with the trolling motor propeller.
Variants
This product family is offered in four configurations based on shaft length and whether the GT360UHD 360 sonar transducer package is included.
The 42 inch and 49 inch versions use the same Spy Pole platform and control approach. The versions marked With 360 Sonar Yes add the GT360UHD package for 360-degree sonar, while the versions marked With 360 Sonar No are the motorized pole mount configurations for users adding compatible transducers separately.
- 010-03012-00: 42 inch length, With 360 Sonar No. This shorter shaft configuration is commonly matched with 50 inch Garmin Force or Force Pro trolling motor setups.
- 010-03012-20: 49 inch length, With 360 Sonar No. This longer shaft configuration is commonly matched with 57 inch Garmin Force or Force Pro trolling motor setups.
- 010-03012-00/GT360: 42 inch length, With 360 Sonar Yes. This configuration pairs the 42 inch Spy Pole with the GT360UHD transducer package for 360-degree imaging around the boat.
- 010-03012-20/GT360: 49 inch length, With 360 Sonar Yes. This configuration pairs the 49 inch Spy Pole with the GT360UHD transducer package for 360-degree imaging around the boat.
Installation and setup
The Spy Pole installs at the bow where the transducer can remain clear of the trolling motor propeller and other hardware. The depth ring is an important setup point because it marks the maximum drop depth after the preferred running position is set.
The power lead should be routed to a switched power source, with the red wire connected through ignition or another manual switch and the black wire connected to negative battery or ground. The inline fuse holder should remain in place, and the 8 A fuse specification should be followed during installation.
Compatibility and system integration
The mount is made for anglers running Garmin sonar and boat-control electronics together. It can be controlled from a compatible Garmin chartplotter, and it can work alongside compatible Force and Force Pro trolling motors so the sonar direction is not tied only to the motor head.
When using LiveScope, the shaft can route the transducer cable through the pole for a cleaner bow installation. When using GT360UHD, the 360 sonar configuration gives a broader view around the boat, which is useful for scanning brush piles, rock, grass edges and other structure before making repeated casts.
Use cases on board
This system is a strong match for freshwater and inshore anglers who already rely on live sonar and want finer control at the bow. It is especially practical for fishing structure, holding position in wind or current and watching a target while the trolling motor keeps the boat where it needs to be.
For clean installation, confirm the shaft length, trolling motor shaft length, transducer plan and available bow space before ordering. The 360 sonar versions are the better fit when the goal is to add GT360UHD imaging at the same time as the pole mount.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
