Overview
The Raymarine A80488 is a transducer adapter cable that connects a 7-pin embedded Airmar transducer to a Raymarine display with a 25-pin RV sonar port. It makes sense on boats where the transducer is already installed and working, but the helm is being updated to an Axiom RV-family display.
This cable uses a 25-pin RV connector on the display side and a 7-pin connector on the transducer side. That makes it a practical fit when you want to keep an existing 7-pin transducer in service instead of replacing the sensor and pulling a new cable through the boat.
For many refits, that matters more than it sounds. A transducer cable may already pass through sealed entries, liners, or tight rigging runs, so adapting the connection at the display end is often the cleaner way to finish the upgrade.
Key features
- 25-pin RV connector at the display end and 7-pin embedded transducer connector at the transducer end
- Built to interface an existing 7-pin Airmar transducer with an Axiom RV sonar connection
- Useful when the transducer is already mounted and the cable run is already finished through the hull, bilge, or transom
- Listed for Raymarine Axiom RV 3D, Axiom+ RV 3D, and Axiom 2 RV 3D adapter-cable applications
- Helps retain a compatible installed transducer during a display upgrade, with the main fit check being the connector type at both ends
Compatibility and fit
This is a connector-specific adapter, not a universal transducer cable. Before ordering, check that your display uses the 25-pin RV sonar connection and that your existing transducer lead ends in the 7-pin format this cable is built around.
It is a good match for boats that already have a compatible 7-pin embedded transducer in place and do not need to change the transducer itself. That can save a lot of rework on boats where the original sensor is bedded, sealed, and otherwise not worth disturbing.
Installation and setup
On a typical retrofit, the adapter sits between the existing transducer lead and the display's sonar port. The job is straightforward when both connectors match, and it avoids the extra labor that comes with removing a working transducer or rerouting cable through finished interior spaces.
This suits owners updating electronics at the helm on fishing boats, cruisers, and sailboats where the transducer below the waterline is still the right one for the system. It is especially useful when the goal is to keep a known-good sensor in service and focus the upgrade on the display end of the installation.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
