Overview
The Attwood Marine Tsunami MK2 is a manual bilge pump range for boats that need switched bilge water removal in 12V or 24V systems. The range covers 500, 800 and 1200 GPH ratings, with retail models using a 29 inch (735 mm) wire lead, IP68 protection and the patented X-Air impeller to clear trapped air from the pump and pipework.
This pump is a good fit for bilge compartments where access is limited and a serviceable cartridge pump makes upkeep easier. The 90 degree rotatable elbow outlet allows the discharge hose to be routed in a full 360 degree orientation, while the external mounting feet help with installation because the basket does not have to be removed just to fasten the pump in place.
Key features
- Patented X-Air impeller ejects trapped air in the pump and discharge line, helping prevent air-locks after the bilge has run low or the hose has held air.
- Configuration range covers 500, 800 and 1200 GPH flow ratings across 12V and 24V DC boat electrical systems.
- IP68-rated construction with PC/BT, ABS, glass-filled polypropylene, POM, PBT, an SS316 motor shaft and nitrile seals used in the pump assembly.
- 90 degree rotatable elbow outlet supports hose routing around stringers, limber holes and other tight bilge geometry.
- External mounting feet and a one-hand cartridge release make service more practical in low bilge areas.
- Meets or exceeds ABYC H-22, ISO 8849 and ISO 15083 bilge pump standards, with ISO 8846 ignition protection and ABYC E-11 and ISO 10133 wiring standards listed for the range.
- Backward-compatible mounting hole pattern and motor cartridges support Tsunami Mk1 bilge and aerator pump retrofit work.
Variants
This range is offered in five pump configurations. The main differences are rated flow and system voltage, which affect bilge water movement and the circuit sizing needed at the helm or DC distribution panel.
The 500 and 800 GPH models use 3/4 inch (19 mm) and 1 inch (25 mm) barbed outlet options, while the 1200 GPH models use 1 inch (25 mm) and 1-1/8 inch (28 mm) barbed outlet options. The retail configurations listed here share the X-Air anti-airlock impeller, 29 inch wire lead and IP68 rating.
- 5606-7: 500 GPH, 12V. This T500 configuration uses a 3 Amp fuse and works well for smaller bilge spaces where a lower-flow 12V pump matches compact hose runs.
- 5608-7: 800 GPH, 12V. This T800 configuration uses a 4 Amp fuse and gives 12V boats a step up in capacity while retaining the 3/4 inch and 1 inch outlet size family.
- 5612-7: 1200 GPH, 12V. This T1200 configuration uses a 5 Amp fuse and belongs in larger 12V bilge areas where more pumping capacity is needed.
- 5609-7: 800 GPH, 24V. This T800 configuration uses a 2 Amp fuse and fits vessels with a 24V DC bilge circuit.
- 5613-7: 1200 GPH, 24V. This T1200 configuration uses a 2 Amp fuse and pairs the higher 1200 GPH rating with 24V system compatibility.
Installation and service
Plan the installation around the bilge low point, discharge hose diameter and access to the cartridge release. A non-return valve is recommended for any installation, and the correct outlet type should be matched to the hose size so the bilge line is not forced into a poor bend or an undersized connection.
The rotatable outlet is useful when the pump has to sit near a stringer, bulkhead or hull shape that limits hose direction. The external feet also make the pump friendlier for production installs and refits because the base can be secured without taking the basket apart.
Electrical and system fit
Match the voltage and fuse size to the vessel's DC system before installation. The 12V versions use 3 Amp, 4 Amp or 5 Amp fuse ratings depending on output, while the 24V versions listed here use a 2 Amp fuse rating. Use marine wiring practice, secure the lead away from standing water where possible and make service loops that do not pull on the cartridge.
Use cases on board
The 500 GPH version fits small craft and auxiliary bilge zones where space and current draw matter. The 800 and 1200 GPH versions fit larger compartments, fishing boats, runabouts and cruising boats where faster bilge clearing is needed from a manually controlled pump circuit.
Maintenance and care
Keep the basket area clear of leaves, hair, bait debris and bilge sludge so the impeller can move water freely. During seasonal service, check that the cartridge releases cleanly, the outlet remains secure, and the discharge line has not sagged in a way that traps excess water. On saltwater boats, a freshwater rinse around the pump area and periodic inspection of wiring and connectors help control corrosion in the bilge space.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
