Overview
The Attwood Marine LightArmor All-Around Light is a fold-down LED navigation light with an included adapter, made for boats that need 360-degree white visibility from the stern, transom, rail area, or other approved all-round light mounting point. This LightArmor range is USCG certified for 2 NM visibility on boats up to 39.4 ft (12 m), giving the buyer a clear fit reference for small powerboats, fishing boats, runabouts, and tenders.
The light uses Attwood’s LightArmor all-round navigation light engine with an anti-glare design that helps protect night vision at the helm. It runs on a 12 VDC system with an operating range of 10.5 VDC to 14.4 VDC, and the fold-down base uses a cam-lock style action so the pole can be raised for use and lowered when clearance, trailering, or storage matters.
Key features
- 360-degree white LED all-round light for navigation use on boats up to 39.4 ft (12 m).
- USCG certified 2 NM visibility for proper use on compatible vessels.
- 12 VDC operation with a 10.5 VDC to 14.4 VDC operating range.
- LightArmor light engine is lighter than earlier Attwood all-round lights, helping reduce weight at the top of the pole.
- Anti-glare optics help reduce light spill toward the operator during night runs.
- Condensation management helps keep the lens area clearer in damp marine conditions.
- Fold-down base with cam-lock operation makes it practical to lower the light when not in use.
- Shock, corrosion, and water-proof electronics suit exposed cockpit, transom, and deck locations.
- Articulating head helps the light sit correctly after installation on common boat mounting surfaces.
- Available with horizontal or vertical mount styles and 12 inch or 20 inch pole lengths.
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations so the light can better match the boat’s mounting surface, required light height, and preferred pole construction.
The mount style, pole length, and pole material vary by version. The LightArmor all-around LED light, fold-down base concept, black finish, and included adapter are consistent across the range.
- 5558-P12A7: Horizontal mount style, 12 inch pole length, plastic pole material. This shorter plastic-pole version suits horizontal mounting locations where a lower profile is enough for the light to clear nearby hardware.
- 5551-PA20-7: Vertical mount style, 20 inch pole length, aluminum pole material. This taller aluminum-pole version fits vertical mounting points where extra height helps place the all-round light above rails, seats, or deck gear.
- 5550-PA20-7: Horizontal mount style, 20 inch pole length, aluminum pole material. This version gives a horizontal base layout with a taller aluminum pole for installations that need more light height from a flat mounting surface.
- 5557-PV12A7: Vertical mount style, 12 inch pole length, aluminum pole material. This shorter aluminum-pole version is a good match for vertical mounting areas where space is tighter and a 20 inch pole is not needed.
- 5557-P12A7: Horizontal mount style, 12 inch pole length, aluminum pole material. This version keeps the compact 12 inch height while using an aluminum pole with a horizontal base layout.
Installation and fit
Before ordering, match the mount style to the surface on the boat. Horizontal versions are for flat or horizontal mounting areas, while vertical versions are for upright mounting locations where the base sits against a vertical surface. Pole length also matters: a 20 inch pole gives more height above rails, seating, outboards, or gear, while a 12 inch pole keeps the installation lower and easier to stow.
The base is built for fold-down use, which is helpful on boats stored under covers, boats that trailer often, or vessels where the light needs to be lowered after dark navigation is finished. Installation should place the lens where it has an unobstructed 360-degree view, away from canvas, rod holders, antennas, passengers, and other items that can block the light.
Electrical and on-board use
This is a 12 VDC navigation light, so it belongs on standard 12 volt boat lighting circuits rather than 24 volt systems unless the boat has the proper voltage conversion in place. It is well suited for night cruising, early morning fishing runs, harbor use, and anchoring situations where an all-round white light is required by the vessel’s navigation light layout.
Because the electronics are built to handle water exposure, corrosion, and vibration, the light is appropriate for exposed marine locations. Regular checks are still important: keep the lens clean, confirm the pole locks securely in the raised position, and inspect wiring and mounting fasteners as part of normal seasonal maintenance.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
