Overview
This Attwood Marine Heavy-Duty All-Plastic Adjustable Battery Tray is a battery hold-down tray range for securing Group 24 and Group 27 marine batteries in boats, trailers, and vibration-prone battery compartments. Standard-profile versions adjust from 7 to 9.5 inches tall for batteries with more case height, while low-profile versions list an 8-1/2 in inside height for tighter mounting areas.
The tray body is made from non-corrosive black plastic and uses an adjustable-height crossbar with two retaining bolts instead of a webbing strap. The range meets ABYC Standard E-10 and U.S. Coast Guard requirements, making it a practical replacement for worn battery trays in consoles, transom lockers, under-seat spaces, and engine-room battery areas.
Key features
- Configurations cover Group 24/24M and Group 27/27M batteries, with 24F and 27F coverage on the standard-profile trays.
- Standard-profile trays adjust from 7 to 9.5 inches tall and use inside footprints of 10-5/8 in x 6-3/4 in for Group 24 or 12-1/8 in x 6-3/4 in for Group 27.
- Low-profile trays use an 8-1/2 in listed height with a 7-1/4 in tray width for Group 24/24M or Group 27/27M batteries.
- Non-corrosive black plastic tray body helps avoid rust issues in damp lockers, bilges, and transom battery areas.
- Adjustable-height crossbar and two retaining bolts hold the battery down without a webbing strap.
- Meets ABYC Standard E-10 and U.S. Coast Guard battery hold-down requirements; installs with #10 fasteners.
Variants
The range is offered by battery group size and profile height. Group 24 versions use the shorter tray footprint, Group 27 versions use the longer tray footprint, and the profile selection changes the tray height and battery clearance.
The standard-profile versions cover taller battery setups with a crossbar that adjusts from 7 to 9.5 inches. The low-profile versions use the 8-1/2 in listed height and are used for Group 24/24M or Group 27/27M batteries where the lower tray style fits the installation space.
- 9097-5: Battery group size Group 24 / 24M, standard profile. This version uses the standard-profile tray with a 10-5/8 in x 6-3/4 in inside footprint and height adjustment from 7 to 9.5 inches.
- 9098-5: Battery group size Group 27 / 27M / 27F, standard profile. This version uses the longer standard-profile tray with a 12-1/8 in x 6-3/4 in inside footprint and the same 7 to 9.5 in height adjustment.
- 9090-5: Battery group size Group 24 / 24M, low profile. This version uses a 10-5/8 in x 7-1/4 in x 8-1/2 in inside dimension for installations with less vertical room around the battery.
- 9091-5: Battery group size Group 27 / 27M, low profile. This version uses a 12-5/8 in x 7-1/4 in x 8-1/2 in inside dimension for larger Group 27 batteries in the low-profile tray style.
Installation and fit
Mount the tray to a flat, solid surface with #10 fasteners through the tray mounting holes. Before drilling, check clearance above the battery for terminals, cable bends, battery covers, and the crossbar nuts, especially in compact consoles, under-seat compartments, and transom lockers.
Match the tray to the battery group size and verify the actual battery case dimensions before installation, since battery cases and terminal layouts can vary by brand. Route battery cables so the hold-down does not press on terminals, cable lugs, or protective boots.
Use on board
This tray range suits small boats, fishing boats, pontoons, and cruisers where the starting or house battery needs a secure hold-down that can handle movement underway. The all-plastic tray body is useful in saltwater and freshwater areas where damp air, washdown water, and battery compartment moisture are common.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
