Overview
The Garmin 010-02592-50 is a 5-inch chartplotter and sonar combo that comes with Garmin Navionics+ Canada inland mapping and a GT20-TM transducer for traditional CHIRP and ClearVu scanning sonar. It runs on 9 to 18 Vdc, draws about 600 mA typical at 12 Vdc, and carries an IPX7 water rating for typical console and open-helm installs.
The WVGA display is 800 x 480 pixels, with a viewable area of 109 x 65.8 mm (4.3 x 2.6 in.). The unit itself measures 188 x 122 x 61.5 mm (7.4 x 4.8 x 2.4 in.), which makes it a practical fit on smaller boats where dash space is tight but you still want charts, waypoints, and depth in one place.
Built-in Wi-Fi handles wireless sharing with compatible chartplotters and phone pairing for the ActiveCaptain app, so updates and chart management can be done without pulling the unit off the boat.
Key features
- 5-inch WVGA display (800 x 480) with a keyed interface that stays easy to use with wet hands
- 9 to 18 Vdc input for most 12V systems; protects with a 3 A fast-acting fuse on the power lead
- IPX7 water rating for helm mounting where spray and washdowns happen
- Traditional CHIRP and ClearVu CHIRP sonar support; includes GT20-TM transducer (77/200 kHz traditional and 455/800 kHz ClearVu)
- Preloaded Garmin Navionics+ Canada inland content with up to 1 ft contours where available
- Built-in Wi-Fi for wireless sharing and for pairing with the ActiveCaptain mobile app
- microSD card slot for chart management and updates (supports up to 1 TB)
Installation and setup
Power it from a clean DC feed that stays within the 9 to 18 Vdc range, and keep the power/data cable routed away from high-current wiring where possible to reduce sonar noise. The recommended fuse rating is 3 A fast-acting, which is helpful when you are planning a small electronics bus or adding it to an existing helm breaker panel.
Mount it on the included tilt mount when you want to adjust viewing angle at the helm, or flush mount it into a dash panel for a more built-in look. Plan for cable bend radius and service access behind the unit; 57 mm (2.25 in.) of clearance behind the chartplotter is a good target before the connector run turns.
Sonar and transducer notes
The included GT20-TM transducer mounts on a transom or trolling motor and uses a 4-pin connection, with a 20 ft cable and a built-in temperature sensor. Take time to set the transducer level and square to the waterline so it holds bottom cleanly when the boat comes up on plane.
Depth performance varies with transducer installation, water salinity, bottom type, and conditions. The unit lists sonar depth capability up to 701 m (2,300 ft) at 77 kHz.
Charting and connectivity
With Garmin Navionics+ Canada inland mapping preloaded, you can run charts right away and manage regions or updates through the microSD slot. Wi-Fi supports sharing sonar, waypoints, and routes with another compatible chartplotter, and it pairs with the ActiveCaptain app for software and chart updates.
Compatibility and fit
This setup makes sense for inland lake fishing rigs, aluminum boats, bass boats, and compact center consoles that need one screen to handle both navigation and fishfinding. Before you commit to a flush install, confirm your dash cutout and plan how you will reach the microSD slot and rear connections for updates and seasonal service.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
