Overview
The Perko Fig. 1670 is a fold-down LED white all-round navigation pole light for 12V DC boats that need a 2 nautical mile certified light on power-driven vessels under 20 m (65.6 ft.). It uses a self-contained LED module, draws 1.28 W at 0.10 A, and is built around a 3/4 inch anodized aluminum pole.
This series is made for installations where the pole light needs to mount cleanly on a horizontal or vertical surface, with the ability to fold down when clearance matters. The range covers 14 inch and 24 inch overall heights, with silver anodized aluminum and black anodized aluminum finish options.
Key features
- White all-round LED navigation light with 2 nm USCG certification for power-driven vessels under 20 m.
- Runs on 12 Volt DC with a nominal draw of 1.28 W and 0.10 A.
- Meets ABYC C-5, NMMA Type Accepted, EN/ISO 19009:2015, ABYC A-16 (2016), 1972 COLREGS, RCD 2013/53/EU, and USCG 33 CFR 2nm requirements.
- LED optics adjust based on pole mount angle, which helps the light work with horizontal or vertical mounting positions.
- 3/4 inch anodized aluminum pole offered in silver or black finish.
- Available in 14 inch and 24 inch overall heights for matching the light position to the boat layout.
- Mounting uses #8 screws.
Variants
The Fig. 1670 range is offered in four retail configurations. Finish and overall height are the two variables, so the selection mainly affects appearance, clearance, and how high the light sits above the mounting surface.
The 12V DC supply, 2 nm rating, 3/4 inch aluminum pole, and included horizontal and vertical mount bases remain consistent across these retail variants.
- 1670DP0ALU: Silver anodized aluminum finish with 14 inch overall height. This configuration keeps the light closer to the mounting surface while retaining the same 2 nm white all-round function.
- 1670DP2ALU: Silver anodized aluminum finish with 24 inch overall height. The taller pole raises the light above nearby deck hardware, rails, or canvas when the installation needs extra clearance.
- 1670DP0BLK: Black anodized aluminum finish with 14 inch overall height. The black pole gives a darker visual match for black rails, windshield frames, or hardware while keeping the lower 14 inch profile.
- 1670DP2BLK: Black anodized aluminum finish with 24 inch overall height. This version combines the darker pole finish with the taller height for installations that need more clearance above nearby fittings.
Installation and setup
Each retail package includes both horizontal and vertical mount bases, which gives the installer flexibility when working with a transom, deck, hardtop, or other suitable mounting surface. The fold-down format is useful on boats where the light may need to be lowered for storage, covers, or trailering, while still raising into its operating position when navigation lights are required.
Before installation, confirm that the chosen height and mounting point give the white all-round light a clear field of visibility and do not place it behind rails, canvas, antennas, or other hardware. Wiring should be connected to a properly protected 12V DC navigation light circuit.
Use on board
This series fits powerboats under 20 meters that need a compact LED all-round pole light with a fold-down base rather than a fixed vertical pole. It suits small cruisers, center consoles, fishing boats, runabouts, and similar vessels where the mounting angle, pole height, and finish need to match the boat layout.
