Overview

The TACO Marine F31-3504BSA-1 is a 4-rod transom mount rod rack that turns unused transom space into practical rod storage for fishing boats. It holds four ready-to-fish rod and reel combos and uses a spline adjustment system so the rack angle can be set to match the transom.

This rack is built with brushed aluminum and fitted with white PVC liners, giving rods a cleaner contact surface inside each holder. The rod holder inside diameter is 1-7/8", which is a key fit point when checking rod butt size and clearance before mounting.

It is a useful upgrade for center consoles, bay boats, walkarounds, and fishing boats where gunwale space is already taken by flush-mount holders, cleats, or other gear. The transom location keeps rods organized and easy to reach without adding clutter across the cockpit.

Key features
  • Holds up to four rods on the transom to free up gunwale and deck space.
  • Spline adjustment system lets the rack angle be matched to the boat's transom.
  • Brushed aluminum construction gives the rack a clean look for exposed cockpit and transom areas.
  • White PVC liners help protect rod butts and keep each holder visually finished.
  • 1-7/8" rod holder inside diameter helps confirm fit before installation.
  • Useful for keeping multiple ready-to-fish combos organized during coastal fishing, trolling, or dockside rigging.
  • Backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit

This is a surface-mounted transom rack, so the mounting area should be checked for backing access, transom angle, hardware clearance, and interference with engines, swim platforms, ladders, trim tabs, and boarding gates. The adjustable spline makes it easier to position the holders at a workable angle instead of forcing the rack to follow one fixed transom shape.

Before drilling, dry-fit the rack with the rods and reels that will be used most often. Check that rod tips clear the outboard cowling and that reels do not hit the transom, seat backs, or other cockpit equipment when the boat is underway.

Use on board

The 4-rod layout works well for anglers who want extra storage for pre-rigged setups without covering the cockpit with loose rods. It can help keep trolling, casting, and backup combinations separated and ready while leaving existing flush holders available for active fishing.

Because it mounts at the transom, the rack is best suited to boats where that area stays accessible and does not interfere with boarding or engine service. It is a good match for owners who need more rod capacity but do not want to add a larger leaning post rack or modify the hardtop.

Maintenance and care

After saltwater trips, rinse the rack and liners with fresh water and let the area dry before covering the boat. Periodic checks of the mounting hardware and liner condition are worthwhile, especially on boats that see regular trailering, offshore chop, or heavy cockpit use.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
