Overview
The Attwood Marine 1607-3 is a straight fuel tank vent for boats that lets air escape from the tank while you refuel. It connects to a 5/8 inch I.D. vent hose, fits a 3/4 inch installation hole, and works with hull sections up to 7/8 inch thick.
The body is black polypropylene with splash-resistant construction that also stands up well around saltwater and wet hull sides. It meets ABYC ventilation specifications, which matters when you are replacing a vent in a fuel system that needs to stay safe and properly vented at the dock and underway.
Key features
- Straight vent body for fuel vent runs that come to the hull fitting without a built-in angle
- Fits 5/8 inch I.D. hose, which is a key sizing point before ordering a replacement
- Mounts in a 3/4 inch hole and accepts hull thickness up to 7/8 inch
- Black polypropylene body resists splash exposure and corrosion around the fuel fill area
- Meets ABYC ventilation specifications
Installation and fit
This vent is a good match for boats that already use a straight hull-side fuel vent with 5/8 inch hose. Before ordering, check the hose inside diameter, the existing mounting hole, and the thickness of the panel or hull section where the vent passes through.
For replacement work, the straight layout matters just as much as the hose size. If your current vent line reaches the hull fitting in a direct run, this style keeps the install simple and avoids forcing the hose into a bend right at the connection.
Use on board
This part suits boats with a conventional vented fuel tank setup, including many runabouts, center consoles, pontoons, and small cruisers. It makes sense for owners replacing an older vent that is faded, cracked, or no longer the right match for the hose and mounting hole already in the boat.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
