Overview

The Jabsco 29270-0000 is a manual bilge pump for 38 mm (1-1/2 in) hose, with output up to 22 GPM (83 LPM). It can be mounted on a bulkhead, through a bulkhead, on deck, or through deck with the optional kit, which gives more freedom when handle access and hose routing matter as much as the pump location itself.

This pump is built for clearing standing bilge water and it can also be used for holding tank discharge where a manual pump with solids handling is required. The inlet and outlet ports can be swapped to reverse flow direction, and the clamp ring opens quickly for cleaning or service if the line picks up debris. A push-fit elbow is supplied, which helps when the hose needs a cleaner turn behind panels or under a deck surface.

Key features
  • Fits 38 mm (1-1/2 in) ID hose.
  • Manual output up to 22 GPM (83 LPM), with actual flow depending on installation and pumping rate.
  • Mounts on bulkhead, through bulkhead, on deck, or through deck with the optional through-deck kit.
  • Flow direction can be reversed by exchanging the inlet and outlet ports.
  • Quick-release clamp ring gives faster access for blockage clearance and service.
  • One push-fit elbow is included, and optional elbows can swivel 360 degrees to help with hose runs.
  • Supplied with a detachable stainless steel handle, mounting clips, and provision for a safety lanyard.
Installation and fit

The nominal pump dimensions are about 240 mm long, 210 mm wide, and 150 mm high, with a 260 mm handle. On a boat, the real fit check is not just the pump body. Make sure there is room for the full handle stroke, enough clearance for the hose bends, and a mounting face that lets the handle work comfortably without fouling lockers, liners, or deck framing.

If you are planning a through-deck layout, the optional kit lets the same pump be worked from inside or outside the cabin. That is useful on sailboats and enclosed wheelhouse boats where the pump needs to stay accessible when the weather turns bad.

Use on board

This is a sensible match for boats that want a manual dewatering pump alongside their electric bilge setup, and for installations where the mounting face is dictated by the boat rather than by the shortest hose run. It also suits owners who want one manual pump that can serve both bilge duty and approved holding tank discharge duty.

It is meant for standing bilge water, not for keeping pace with uncontrolled flooding through hull damage. For routine service, the quick-access body layout is helpful on boats that see dirty bilges, fishing debris, or long periods between clean-outs.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
