Michigan Wheel Diffuser Ring (9500-103)

The diffuser ring prevents exhaust gasses from re-entering the blades at low speeds by preventing them from entering the blade. It only aids in preventing cavitation and, in the worst-case scenario, complete blow-out of a thru-hub exhaust system by keeping the exhaust gasses in the slipstream (the water flow between the bottom unit and the propeller hub) from causing cavitation (total loss of propeller "grip"). Your propeller may be slipping if you don't have one.
