Overview
The Garmin 010-02591-50 is a 5-inch ECHOMAP UHD2 54cv chartplotter/fishfinder combo with built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping for U.S. Coastal and Great Lakes waters.
It runs on 9-18 V DC (a standard 12 V system) and uses a keyed control pad that works well when hands are wet or the boat is moving. The 800 x 480 display keeps charts and sonar returns easy to read at the helm.
Sonar is supported for Garmin traditional CHIRP and ClearVü scanning, but this version does not include a transducer. Add a compatible 4-pin Garmin transducer to the rear port to get depth and fishfinder data on screen.
Key features
- 5-inch keyed display with 800 x 480 resolution
- Built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping for U.S. Coastal and Great Lakes coverage
- Supports Garmin traditional CHIRP and ClearVü scanning sonar with a compatible transducer (not included)
- 9-18 V DC power input for typical 12 V boat systems
- Built-in Wi-Fi for sharing waypoints, routes, and sonar data with compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 units
- Works with the ActiveCaptain app for OneChart, software updates, and Quickdraw Community access
- Multi-band GPS for steadier position fixes around marinas, bridges, and steep shorelines
- IPX7 water rating for rain, spray, and routine washdowns
- microSD card slot supports up to 32 GB for charts and data storage
- Tilt-mount and flush-mount options for small console and dash installs
Installation and setup
The unit measures 7.4 inches wide by 4.8 inches high by 2.4 inches deep, so it fits well on smaller helms where space is tight. Use the included tilt mount when you want quick access to the rear connections, or flush-mount it for a cleaner dash face.
Power connects through the included power/data cable. Run it to a clean 12 V feed (within the 9-18 V range) and route transducer wiring away from high-current conductors to help keep sonar readings clean.
Sonar and transducer compatibility
This part number ships without a transducer, and a transducer is required to display depth and targets. It has a single 4-pin transducer port and supports Garmin traditional CHIRP and ClearVü scanning sonar when paired with a compatible 4-pin Garmin transducer.
Networking and app integration
Built-in Wi-Fi lets you connect to compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 chartplotters on the same boat to share user data such as waypoints and routes, and it can share sonar when configured on supported units. Pairing to a phone or tablet through the ActiveCaptain app is a practical way to handle software updates, manage charts, and pull in community Quickdraw contours.
This model is not NMEA 2000 compatible, so it is best used as a stand-alone navigation and sonar display rather than as a backbone-connected system display for engine and sensor data.
On-board use cases
A 5-inch display makes sense on skiffs, bay boats, small center consoles, and sailboats where you want charts and sonar in a compact footprint. It also works well as a second station display when you want quick coastal navigation and depth without giving up prime dash space.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
