Overview

The Raymarine A80308 is a Quantum power and data Y-adapter cable for connecting a Quantum radar scanner to existing Raymarine digital radome cabling. It is used when a boat already has a combined power and data cable from an older Raymarine Digital Radar or HD Color Radome installation, and the new scanner uses separate power and data connectors.

This adapter is most useful during radar upgrades where pulling a new cable through a mast, arch, hardtop, or radar pole would be difficult. It lets the existing combined cable remain in place while splitting the connection at the scanner end for the Quantum radar setup.

Installation and setup

Use this adapter at the scanner end of the installation when the vessel is already fitted with a compatible combined Raymarine radar cable. The existing cable connects into the adapter, and the adapter separates that connection for the Quantum scanner power and data inputs.

Before installation, check the existing radar cable path and connector condition, especially on exposed deck or mast locations where salt, UV, and movement can affect older wiring. Any corroded connector or damaged cable should be corrected before relying on the adapter for the new radar installation.
