Overview

The Victron Energy BMS300200000 is a VE.Bus battery management system for Victron LiFePO4 and LFP battery banks on 12V, 24V and 48V DC marine power systems. It operates across a 9 to 70V DC input range and protects individual lithium cells against over-voltage, under-voltage and over-temperature conditions.

This unit is used with Victron lithium batteries that have integrated Balancing, Temperature and Voltage control, often referred to as BTV. The BTV connections from multiple batteries can be daisy-chained, allowing the BMS to supervise the battery bank and send control signals when the bank needs loads reduced, charging limited or chargers disconnected.

For boats using VE.Bus equipment, the BMS links to MultiPlus, Quattro or Phoenix inverter products through a standard RJ45 UTP cable. It also gives installers Load Disconnect, Charge Disconnect and Pre-alarm outputs for controlling supporting equipment in a safer lithium setup.

Key features
  • Protects each individual cell in a Victron LiFePO4 or LFP battery against over-voltage, under-voltage and over-temperature conditions.
  • Works in 12V, 24V and 48V DC systems, with a BMS input voltage range of 9 to 70V DC.
  • Connects to MultiPlus, Quattro or Phoenix inverter products through a standard RJ45 UTP VE.Bus cable.
  • Uses Load Disconnect, Charge Disconnect and Pre-alarm outputs to manage loads, chargers and warning devices during battery fault conditions.
  • Supports daisy-chained BTV battery connections for multi-battery Victron LiFePO4 banks.
  • Load Disconnect output has a 2A source current limit, while the Charge Disconnect output has a 10mA source current limit.
  • Pre-alarm output can trigger a warning before load disconnect, with a minimum 30 second delay between pre-alarm and load disconnect.
  • IP20 housing for installation inside a protected electrical area, with an operating temperature range from -20°C to +50°C.
  • ABS enclosure measures 105 x 78 x 32 mm and weighs about 0.1 kg.
Compatibility and fit

The VE.Bus BMS is for Victron LiFePO4 battery systems that use BTV connections. It is not a generic drop-in BMS for unrelated lithium batteries, so the battery type and Victron BTV cabling should be confirmed before installation.

The battery BTV leads can be daisy-chained across several batteries. The system supports arrangements with up to five batteries in parallel and up to four batteries in series, which covers typical 12V, 24V and 48V house-bank layouts when the battery bank is configured within the proper lithium system limits.

VE.Bus communication is handled through two RJ45 sockets, making the unit a natural fit for boats with Victron inverter or inverter/charger equipment already in the electrical system. Non-VE.Bus loads and charge sources can be controlled through the appropriate disconnect terminals rather than through VE.Bus communication.

Installation and setup

Mount this BMS in a dry and protected electrical space, such as an electronics locker, battery control area or distribution panel compartment. The IP20 protection grade and 95% maximum non-condensing humidity rating mean it should not be installed where it can be exposed to deck wash, bilge splash or dripping water.

The Load Disconnect output is normally high and becomes free-floating when cell under-voltage is imminent. The Charge Disconnect output is normally high and becomes free-floating when cell over-voltage or over-temperature is detected. The Pre-alarm output is normally free-floating and becomes high during an imminent cell under-voltage alarm, allowing a light, buzzer or relay to warn the crew before loads are disconnected.

Keep the BTV, RJ45 UTP and disconnect wiring accessible and well supported. On a boat, clean routing and strain relief matter because battery spaces and electrical lockers see movement, service work and seasonal maintenance.

Use cases on board

This BMS is a practical match for cruising boats, fishing boats and sailboats using Victron lithium batteries with a VE.Bus inverter or inverter/charger. It helps coordinate the lithium bank with onboard DC loads, AC inverter loads and charge sources so the system reacts before the cells move outside their safe operating range.

The unit does not carry the main battery current itself. It belongs in a properly planned lithium installation with suitable fusing, cabling, load control and charger control hardware, so the BMS commands the system while the power equipment handles the actual current.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
