Overview

The Raymarine A80589 is an external GA200 GPS antenna for improving GPS/GNSS reception on compatible Raymarine chartplotters, AIS receivers, and fixed-mount VHF radios. It is used when the display or radio needs a cleaner satellite view than its built-in receiver can get from the helm, electronics box, cabin, or another partially shielded mounting location.

The GA200 supports GPS and GLONASS reception through the connected compatible Raymarine unit and comes with a fitted 10 m (33 ft) cable. Its compact 85 mm (3.35 in) diameter housing can be surface mounted or pole mounted, which makes it practical for hardtops, arches, radar masts, and other locations with a better view of the sky.

For marine exposure, the antenna carries IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings and operates from 0°C to +55°C (+32°F to +131°F). At 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) including the cable, it is light enough for small-console installations while still giving larger boats a dedicated external antenna location for navigation electronics.

Key features
  • External GPS/GNSS antenna for compatible Raymarine multifunction displays, AIS receivers, and VHF radios.
  • Supports GPS and GLONASS reception through the connected compatible Raymarine equipment.
  • 10 m (33 ft) fitted cable gives useful routing length from a hardtop, arch, rail area, or mast location back to the electronics connection point.
  • Surface or pole mounting options help place the antenna where it has a clearer view of the sky.
  • IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings suit exposed marine locations subject to rain, spray, and washdowns.
  • Compact 85 mm (3.35 in) diameter housing with a 34 mm (1.34 in) height, or 70 mm (2.76 in) height when used with the pole mount adaptor.
  • Compatible with Raymarine Axiom Pro, Axiom 2 Pro, Axiom XL, Axiom 2 XL, selected eS Series and a Series displays, AIS5000, AIS4000, AIS700, AIS350, AIS650, AIS500, AIS950, Ray90, Ray91, Ray63, Ray73, and Ray53 units.
Installation and setup

Mount the GA200 where it has the best practical view of the sky and is clear of major obstructions from hardtops, windscreens, radar arrays, and metal structure. On many boats, the best location is above the helm area, on an electronics arch, or on a short antenna pole where the cable can be routed cleanly into the console or equipment space.

The fitted 10 m cable helps reduce the need for immediate cable splicing or extension on many center consoles, cruisers, and sailboats. When planning the run, allow room for service loops, drip loops, and strain relief so vibration and deck movement do not load the connector or the antenna base.

Compatibility and fit

This antenna is intended for compatible Raymarine equipment that uses an external antenna to improve reception for an internal GPS/GNSS receiver. It is a good match for boats where the main display, AIS unit, or VHF radio is installed below a hardtop, inside a cabin, or in a location where the built-in receiver does not have a strong sky view.

For networked navigation systems, confirm that the connected Raymarine unit supports the GA200 before installation. It is not a general NMEA 2000 GPS sensor for supplying position data to unrelated networks, so fit should be checked against the specific chartplotter, AIS, or VHF model on board.

Marine use

The GA200 suits coastal cruising, offshore fishing, sailing, and general navigation setups where dependable position reception matters for chartplotting, AIS operation, and radio features tied to vessel position. Its low profile keeps the installation tidy on modern consoles and hardtops, while the pole mount adaptor gives more flexibility when the antenna needs to be raised for a better signal path.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
