Overview
This Attwood Marine light-duty rubber spool/keel roller is a replacement trailer roller for supporting the boat keel and helping the hull track cleanly during launch and retrieval. It is made from molded rubber with nylon inserts, with a 3 in. outside diameter and a 5/8 in. shaft diameter.
This roller fits the keel or spool roller position on compatible boat trailers where a 5/8 in. shaft is used. The light-duty rubber body gives the hull a softer contact point than bare metal and helps guide the boat toward the bow stop when loading at the ramp.
Key features
- Molded rubber construction helps cushion the keel while the boat is sitting on the trailer.
- Nylon inserts support smoother rotation on a compatible 5/8 in. roller shaft.
- 3 in. outside diameter works across the available lengths in this range.
- Helps center and guide the boat during launch, retrieval, and trailering.
- Useful as a direct replacement when an old keel roller is cracked, flattened, swollen, or no longer turning freely.
Variants
This Attwood Marine spool/keel roller is offered in two length configurations for different trailer brackets and keel support positions.
The length changes by variant, while the confirmed 5/8 in. shaft diameter and 3 in. outside diameter remain consistent across the available options.
- 11210-1: 4 in. length. This shorter roller suits trailer locations where the bracket spacing calls for a compact keel support roller.
- 11211-1: 5-1/4 in. length. This longer roller gives more contact width where the trailer bracket and keel position allow the extra length.
Installation and fit
Before replacing a roller, measure the existing roller length, bracket spacing, and shaft diameter. This range is built around a 5/8 in. shaft, so the trailer hardware must match that size for the roller to sit correctly and rotate as intended.
During installation, check that the roller turns freely after the shaft and fasteners are secured. A roller that is too tight, misaligned, or rubbing the bracket can make retrieval harder and can wear unevenly over time.
Use on board and at the ramp
This type of roller is a practical fit for small boat trailers used for fishing boats, runabouts, utility boats, and other trailered craft where the keel needs guided support during loading. It is most useful in the spots that take repeated contact as the boat moves up the trailer and settles against the bow stop.
Maintenance and care
Inspect the roller as part of normal trailer maintenance, especially after saltwater use or long road trips. Rinse away sand and salt, check that the roller still spins, and replace it when the rubber becomes cracked, deeply grooved, or misshapen.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
