Overview
The Jabsco Par-Max HD4 is a 4-chamber diaphragm freshwater delivery pump for marine water pressure systems, with 4 GPM (15.1 LPM) open flow and 12 VDC or 24 VDC configurations across the range. It is built for demand-style freshwater service on boats, where the pump feeds outlets such as a galley faucet, head sink, cockpit shower, or deck shower from a pressurized plumbing system.
The range covers pressure switch cut-off settings of 25 PSI (1.7 BAR), 40 PSI (2.8 BAR), and 60 PSI (4.1 BAR). Each configuration uses quick-connect ports, an integrated sealed pressure switch, internal bypass, thermal motor protection, and a noise-dampening baseplate, which makes it practical for onboard installations where space, sound, and service access matter.
With self-priming capability up to 8 ft (2.4 m), run-dry capability, IPX6 protection, and ISO 8846 ignition protection, this pump range is a strong match for marine freshwater systems that need steady pressure without using an oversized pump.
Key features
- 4 GPM (15.1 LPM) open flow for supplying freshwater outlets on board.
- Available in 12 VDC and 24 VDC configurations to match common vessel electrical systems.
- Pressure switch cut-off options include 25, 40, and 60 PSI for matching the pump to the expected pressure level in the water system.
- Self-primes up to 8 ft (2.4 m) dry prime and can run dry without damage during normal freshwater-system use.
- Integrated sealed pressure switch and internal bypass help the pump start, stop, and reduce cycling in demand-style plumbing.
- Quick-connect ports use 1/2" (13 mm) straight hosebarb fittings for typical freshwater hose connections.
- IPX6 rating, ISO 8846 ignition protection, CE marking, and RCM compliance support installation in marine environments exposed to spray and electrical safety requirements.
- Thermal motor protection, a noise-dampening baseplate, rubber mounting feet, and 12" (305 mm) stripped wire leads help with practical installation and service access.
Variants
This range varies by nominal voltage and pressure switch cut-off setting. The available voltage choices are 12 VDC and 24 VDC, and the available cut-off pressures are 25 PSI (1.7 BAR), 40 PSI (2.8 BAR), and 60 PSI (4.1 BAR).
The validated configurations keep the HD4 4 GPM pump platform, 4-chamber diaphragm design, quick-connect port layout, internal bypass, and 1/2" (13 mm) straight hosebarb fitting style. Match the voltage to the vessel electrical system and match the pressure setting to the plumbing layout, fixture expectations, and accumulator setup.
Electrical and system integration
The 12 VDC versions operate over 9 VDC to 13.6 VDC and use a 15 amp fuse, which is not included. The 24 VDC versions operate over 18 VDC to 27.2 VDC and use a 10 amp fuse, which is not included. All versions use 12" (305 mm), 14 AWG stripped wire leads.
The pump has an intermittent duty cycle, so it belongs in a pressurized freshwater system where it cycles on demand rather than running continuously for long transfer jobs. The internal bypass helps smooth flow and reduce rapid cycling, especially when the pump is matched with the right pressure setting and plumbing layout.
Installation and fit
The pump should be mounted where it can stay accessible for inspection, strainer cleaning, hose service, and electrical checks. Allow extra room around the body for the port clips to extend, for wiring bends, and for the hosebarb fittings and hoses to route without strain.
The 1/2" (13 mm) straight hosebarb fittings suit common freshwater hose runs. A clean inlet path matters on any diaphragm pump, so the inline strainer should be installed where it can be reached before debris has a chance to enter the pump head.
Materials and marine environment
The wetted components include a fiber reinforced polypropylene upper housing, polypropylene check valve retainer, Santoprene diaphragm, and EPDM valves, seals, and diaphragms. Pump-head fasteners are stainless steel, while the lower housing is cast aluminum and the motor casing uses cast aluminum with coated steel.
The operating and fluid temperature range is 32 F to 140 F (0 C to 60 C). For boats used in saltwater, keep hose connections dry where possible, protect wiring from chafe, and leave access for rinsing and inspection after heavy spray exposure.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
