Overview

The Jabsco 35115-0020 is a 12V flangemount blower for 3 inch ducting, rated at 105 CFM open airflow. It is built for intermittent duty jobs such as clearing fuel vapors from bilge spaces before engine start, and it can also be used for general air circulation where its service life fits the application. The motor draws 4.4 amps and the circuit uses a 6 amp fuse, which helps when checking load on a 12V boat system.

This model meets USCG Regulation 183.410 and ISO 8846 MARINE for ignition protection, and it complies with ISO 9097 MARINE. The housing uses reinforced plastic with corrosion-resistant materials throughout, so it suits enclosed marine spaces where moisture, vibration, and routine washdown exposure around the installation area are part of normal use.

For buyers comparing bilge blowers, the practical fit points are straightforward: this is a flange-mounted unit for a flat bulkhead, it works with 3 inch ducting, and it is intended for boats that need a compact ignition-protected blower for gasoline vapor evacuation or compartment ventilation.

Key features
  • 105 CFM open airflow, or 2.9 m3/min, for bilge ventilation and other enclosed compartment air exchange
  • 12V DC motor with 4.4 amp draw and a 6 amp fuse size for straightforward electrical planning
  • Flangemount body for flat bulkhead installation with a 3 inch ducting layout
  • Meets USCG Regulation 183.410 and ISO 8846 MARINE for ignition protection
  • Complies with ISO 9097 MARINE and is N.M.M.A. type accepted
  • Housing in reinforced plastic with corrosion-resistant materials throughout
  • Suitable for intermittent duty vapor evacuation, with general ventilation use possible where approximately 1000 hours of motor life is acceptable
Installation and setup

This blower mounts on a flat bulkhead surface in the highest part of the compartment, away from spray and deck wash where possible. The installation calls for a 2-3/4 inch hole in the bulkhead, and the blower is secured with washers and No. 10 screws. Where spray may enter the discharge port, the motor should be positioned vertically.

Duct routing matters on a boat. The inlet run should be kept as straight as possible and led to the lower third of the bilge compartment, where gasoline vapors are more likely to collect. The pickup should sit below the top of the engine stringers without dropping so low that it can end up in bilge water. The blower should also be kept away from heat above 130 F or 55 C to avoid distortion of the wheel or housing.

Electrical and system integration

The unit is for 12V DC systems only. Installation uses stranded copper wire, with 16 AWG recommended for runs up to 25 ft and 14 AWG for runs from 25 ft to 40 ft. A 10 amp rated on-off switch is used on the positive side of the circuit, and the blower circuit must be fuse protected.

On gasoline-powered boats, this type of blower is commonly used as part of the engine compartment ventilation routine before startup. It is a good match for owners replacing an existing 3 inch flange-mount bilge blower and wanting the same duct size, ignition-protected format, and a current draw that stays manageable on a 12V system.
