The Garmin 010-12166-00 is a snap-on protective cover for GPSMAP 7x07 series 7-inch chartplotters. It fits GPSMAP 7407, 7407xsv, 7607, and 7607xsv units and sits over the front of the display when the unit is not being used.

On a boat, screens get scuffed during washdowns, trailering, and dockside work. This cover adds a simple barrier during storage and downtime, helping keep the face of the chartplotter cleaner and reducing the chance of scratches from day to day helm traffic.

Installation and use

Press the cover onto the front of the chartplotter until it seats evenly around the bezel. Remove it before operating the unit, and store it where it will not get stepped on or crushed in a locker.

For best results, wipe the screen before installing the cover so trapped grit does not rub the glass while the boat is underway.
