Overview

The Perko 0506 Gas Tank Vent is a straight body vent fitting for gasoline fuel tank ventilation on boats. It uses a chrome plated zinc alloy body with a polymer splash guard, and it connects to 5/8 inch hose for the tank vent line.

This vent includes a removable 30 mesh stainless steel wire screen flame arrestor for fuel applications, giving installers access for inspection and cleaning when needed. It fits hull thicknesses up to 3/4 inch, which makes it a practical replacement for many small boat, runabout, fishing boat, and cruiser fuel vent locations.

The splash guard helps reduce water entry at the hull vent opening, especially where the vent is exposed to spray, rain, or washdowns. The range is offered with either a black or white polymer splash guard so the visible exterior detail can better match the hull, trim, or nearby hardware.

Variants

This Perko gas tank vent is offered in two configurations. Both use the same 0506 vent format, with the visible splash guard color as the key difference between the variants.

The hose size, maximum hull thickness, body construction, and removable 30 mesh stainless steel flame arrestor remain consistent across these configurations.

• 0506DP4CHR: Chrome finish with black polymer splash guard. The black guard is a good visual match near dark rub rails, black trim, or darker hull details.
• 0506DP4WHT: Chrome finish with white polymer splash guard. The white guard blends more naturally on white hulls, transoms, and cockpit side panels.

Installation and fit

Install this vent where the fuel tank vent line can run without low spots that trap fuel or water. The 5/8 inch hose connection should be matched with approved marine fuel vent hose and secured with suitable clamps for the vessel’s fuel system layout.

Before ordering, confirm the existing vent hose inside diameter, the hull thickness at the mounting point, and the available clearance behind the hull. This is especially important on older boats where the original vent may have been bedded heavily or installed close to liners, flotation, wiring, or deck hardware.
