Overview

The Garmin 010-12826-04 is a Suzuki linkage parts kit that connects the Reactor 40 Kicker autopilot steering and throttle actuators to select Suzuki outboards. It is intended for Suzuki 2014 and newer EFI outboards, including DF9.9B, DF15A, and DF20A, when you want the autopilot to drive steering through the tilt tube and control throttle through the engine linkage.

This kit is used alongside the Reactor 40 Kicker corepack and adds the Suzuki-specific bracket and linkage hardware needed at the motor. On the steering side, the motor bracket installs between the tiller arm and the steering mount, then the linkage arm ties into the steering actuator rod with spacer washers and an R-pin. On the throttle side, a carburetor linkage assembly captures the throttle actuator cable and pulls the engine throttle lever.

Key features
  • Connects Reactor 40 Kicker steering and throttle actuators to select Suzuki outboards
  • Application: Suzuki 2014 and newer EFI outboards including DF9.9B, DF15A, and DF20A
  • Steering bracket mounts between the tiller arm and steering mount, with the steering actuator installed in the tilt tube
  • Throttle linkage holds the throttle actuator cable and transfers motion to the engine throttle lever
  • Steering bracket assembly calls for a humidity-cured, ethyl-based thread-locking compound and cure time before use
  • Uses common hand tools during bracket assembly, including 11 mm (7/16 in.) and 15 mm (19/32 in.) wrenches
Compatibility and fit

This is a motor-side adapter kit for the Reactor 40 Kicker system, not an autopilot by itself. Fit depends on the Suzuki model, model year, and the specific tiller arm and steering mount arrangement on the motor. If your outboard is outside the listed Suzuki EFI models or years, the mounting points and linkage geometry may not line up.

Plan for access around the tilt tube, tiller arm, and the engine manifold area where the throttle cable bracket mounts. The install also needs enough free movement through the full steering arc and across the throttle range without the linkage binding.

Installation and setup

Install the Reactor 40 Kicker steering actuator in the tilt tube per the corepack instructions, then assemble and mount the Suzuki motor bracket and steering linkage arm. The bracket sits between the tiller arm and the steering mount, and the linkage connects to the steering actuator rod using the linkage pin hardware, spacer washers, and the R-pin retainer.

For the throttle side, assemble the carburetor linkage, connect the throttle actuator cable to the linkage first, then secure the throttle cable bracket to the motor at the manifold mounting location using the existing manifold bolt. After everything is mounted, adjust the linkage so the engine idles correctly, the cable has the right tension, and the throttle returns to idle cleanly. During setup, check for any interference around the manifold area so the linkage can move freely.

Use on board

This kit is a good match for boats running a Suzuki kicker where the Reactor 40 Kicker autopilot is handling both steering and throttle. It is commonly used on fishing boats that troll for long stretches and want consistent course control while still being able to manage speed through the autopilot throttle actuator.

Maintenance and checks

Kicker setups see a lot of vibration, so it helps to recheck the linkage hardware after the first few trips and during routine engine service. Inspect the throttle actuator cable routing for chafe points and keep the linkage area clean so salt and grit do not build up around moving joints.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
