Overview
The Simrad 000-15765-001 is a HALO 300X 130 W open-array radar system package supplied without the antenna array, including the RI-50 interface module and a 20 m power and Ethernet cable. It uses solid-state pulse compression with beam sharpening and shows targets from 6 m (20 ft) out to 96 nautical miles.
Dual-Range lets you run a short range and a long range at the same time, which is handy when you are threading a channel while still watching squalls or traffic farther out. ZoneTrack can track up to 50 targets inside defined zones, and VelocityTrack Doppler helps call out moving targets so you can spot collision risks sooner.
Preset modes (Harbour, Offshore, Weather, Bird, and Bird+) cut down on manual tuning. Bird+ mode is built for finding seabird activity out to 8 nautical miles when you are working offshore.
Key features
- 130 W solid-state pulse compression radar with beam sharpening, with target detection from 6 m (20 ft) to 96 nautical miles
- Dual-Range operation to watch close-in navigation and long-range weather or traffic at the same time
- ZoneTrack tracking for up to 50 targets within defined zones
- VelocityTrack Doppler plus Dangerous Target Alerts to help highlight moving threats and closing targets
- Preset modes for Harbour, Offshore, Weather, Bird, and Bird+, including Bird+ detection up to 8 nautical miles
- Runs on 12 V or 24 V DC systems, with standby power listed at 11 W and average power listed at 45 to 75 W at zero wind velocity
- Environmental ratings listed as IPX6 for the pedestal and open-array assembly, IPX5 for the RI-50 module, with an 80-knot wind rating at 48 rpm
Compatibility and fit
This radar package is meant to network with Simrad chartplotters, including NSS, NSX, NSO, and GO series. The connection between the pedestal and RI-50 uses the included combined power and Ethernet cable, and the radar data/control runs over your boat’s Ethernet network to the display.
The antenna is not included in this listing. The pedestal is used with a compatible 3 ft, 4 ft, or 6 ft open-array, so plan for the full sweep area on your mast or hardtop. The listed antenna swing circle diameter is 1142 mm (44.96 in) for a 3 ft array, 1443 mm (56.81 in) for a 4 ft array, and 2047 mm (80.59 in) for a 6 ft array.
Installation and setup
Plan the install like a typical open-array system: a rigid, level mounting surface for the pedestal with clear rotation sweep, plus a protected mounting spot for the RI-50 module. Route the 20 m cable away from high-heat areas and moving parts, and leave enough service loop so the connectors are not under tension.
After mounting, the setup on the display is largely menu-driven. The preset modes are useful right away, and you can fine-tune gain, clutter, and target presentation to match your local conditions.
Power and system planning
Power consumption is listed as 250 W (12 V) at maximum wind velocity and 395 W (24 V) at maximum wind velocity, with 11 W in standby mode. From a full power-off state to transmit is listed as 30 to 40 seconds, which helps when you are planning start-up routines at the dock or before leaving a berth.
Use cases on board
This setup fits boats that want open-array performance for longer runs, frequent low-visibility navigation, or offshore fishing where Bird and Bird+ modes are part of the routine. It also suits refits where you already have a Simrad Ethernet network in place and want radar features like Dual-Range, ZoneTrack, and Doppler target cues in one system.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
