Overview
The Attwood Marine 9070-7 is a vented battery box for Group 24, 27, and 31 batteries, with internal dimensions of 13-1/8" x 7" x 11" and outside dimensions of 21" x 11-1/4" x 11-1/2". It gives you a covered battery installation with terminal access that stays practical after the box is strapped down.
Top-facing vents let gas escape while reducing water intake by 94 percent compared with the PowerGuard 27 Series, and built-in spill channels move rain and splash away from the battery. The polypropylene composite body resists acid runoff and helps limit UV discoloration, which matters in battery compartments that see heat, moisture, and regular washdowns.
Key features
- Fits Group 24, 27, and 31 batteries with removable spacer blocks for a tighter fit where needed
- Top-facing vent system releases gases while limiting water entry into the box
- Engineered spill channels route water away from the battery during rain and splash exposure
- Folding terminal entry panels let you reach battery posts and route cables without removing the mounting strap
- Bidirectional layout allows terminal access from either side of the box
- Snap-lock lid, reinforced mounting brackets, and buckled strap help keep the battery box planted in rough water and trailer transport
- Polypropylene composite construction resists acid leaks and UV discoloration
- Ergonomic handles make it easier to lift and move the battery on and off the boat
Compatibility and fit
This box suits boats using common Group 24, 27, or 31 battery sizes, whether the battery is serving as a starting bank, house battery, or accessory supply. It is also a sensible replacement when an older tray and strap setup leaves the battery exposed to splash or makes terminal service awkward once everything is tied down.
Before ordering, check the full installed footprint and height against your battery compartment, locker, hatch opening, or console space. The side access panels are useful when cable runs enter from either port or starboard side and you do not want to undo the strap just to service terminals or add accessories.
Installation and access
The included mounting hardware is set up to anchor the box securely, and the snap-lock lid helps keep the cover seated once the battery is inside. Spacer blocks help take up free play when using smaller battery cases, which helps reduce box movement and battery movement underway.
This is a good match for owners who remove batteries for charging, off-season storage, or service and want the carry points, lid, and cable access to be easier to work with each time the battery comes in and out.

Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
