Overview
The Victron Energy Blue Smart IP65 Charger 6V/12V - 1.1A is a plug-in battery charger and maintainer for small 6V and 12V batteries used on boats, tenders, motorcycles, camper vans, and workshop equipment. It delivers up to 1.1A in normal mode and can also run at 0.5A in low current mode for smaller batteries.
This charger is built around a 7-stage adaptive charge algorithm with selectable modes for common lead-acid batteries and Li-ion use. The input range is 100-250VAC at 45-65Hz, while the IP65 enclosure gives splash and dust protection for protected marine spaces such as a cabin locker, storage area, or dockside maintenance setup.
Bluetooth is built in, so charging status, battery voltage, output current, settings, and history can be viewed through the VictronConnect app. The compact case measures 38 x 64 x 153mm and weighs 0.4kg, making it easy to store on board or keep connected during off-season battery maintenance.
Key features
- Supports both 6V and 12V batteries, with automatic or manual battery voltage selection.
- 1.1A maximum output current in normal mode, with a 0.5A low current mode for smaller batteries.
- 7-stage adaptive charging for lead-acid batteries, with Normal, High, and Li-ion charge modes available through VictronConnect.
- IP65 splash and dust protection for use around damp lockers, workshops, and protected onboard charging areas.
- Bluetooth monitoring and configuration through the VictronConnect app, including charger status, voltage, current, settings, and charge history.
- Recommended for batteries up to 32Ah for normal charging and up to 300Ah for maintenance only.
- Protection against reverse polarity, output short circuit, and over temperature helps reduce common setup risks.
- Operating temperature range of -30 to +50°C, with full rated output available up to 30°C.
Variants
This product is offered in several plug configurations for different AC mains markets. Each variant uses the same Blue Smart IP65 Charger 6V/12V - 1.1A platform, with the plug type and regional mains connection being the main difference.
The charger specifications remain centered on 6V and 12V battery charging, 1.1A maximum output, Bluetooth setup, and an IP65 enclosure. The correct variant should match the shore power, workshop outlet, or local mains plug used where the charger will be powered.
- BPC120134034R: AC Plug 230V CEE 7/16. This version is suited to regions and installations using the European 230V two-pin CEE 7/16 plug format.
- BPC120134124R: AC Plug 120V NEMA 1-15. This version is configured for 120V outlets using the NEMA 1-15 plug format.
- BPC120134014R: AC Plug 230V AU/NZ. This version matches AU/NZ 230V mains outlets for use in Australia and New Zealand.
- BPC120134024R: AC Plug 230V UK. This version is configured for UK 230V outlets and is the appropriate plug format for those mains connections.
Installation and setup
Connect the charger to the battery first, then connect the AC plug to a suitable mains outlet. The charger can detect battery voltage automatically before charging begins, but 6V or 12V operation can also be selected manually in VictronConnect when needed.
For boat owners maintaining a small starting battery, tender battery, electronics backup battery, or seasonal auxiliary battery, the low current and storage behavior help keep the battery attended without using a large onboard charger. The charger can also be used in power supply mode when a steady DC output is needed, provided the load is suitable for that type of use.
Compatibility and fit
The battery capacity range is important for correct selection. In normal mode, the minimum battery capacity is 4Ah for lead-acid and 2Ah for lithium. In low current mode, the minimum battery capacity is 1.2Ah for lead-acid and 1Ah for lithium.
This is a small maintainer and charger rather than a high-output house bank charger. It is a practical fit for smaller batteries on board, battery maintenance during storage, and portable charging tasks where Bluetooth visibility and a weather-resistant case matter more than fast bulk charging.
Marine use
On a boat, this charger makes sense for off-season storage, dockside battery maintenance, and keeping small 6V or 12V batteries ready without installing a larger fixed charging system. The IP65 case is useful around damp marine spaces, but the charger should still be mounted or placed where it is protected from standing water, direct bilge exposure, and cable strain.
It is a good match for owners who want a compact charger they can monitor from a phone while working nearby on the vessel, trailer, or tender. Selecting the correct plug variant is the main buying decision once the 6V/12V and 1.1A rating matches the battery being charged.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
