Overview

The Raymarine R70160 is an Evolution SeaTalkng cable kit for building the network connections needed around a Raymarine Evolution autopilot installation. It brings the core SeaTalkng power, backbone, spur, connector, and terminator pieces into one kit, so the autopilot components can be tied into a proper Raymarine network layout instead of being assembled from loose cable parts.

The kit includes a 0.4 m SeaTalkng power cable, a 5 m SeaTalkng backbone cable, a 0.4 m SeaTalkng spur cable, a 5-way connector block, two T-piece connectors, and two terminators. Those pieces cover the common backbone and device-connection needs for an Evolution system, including correct termination at the ends of the SeaTalkng backbone.

This is a practical fit for new Evolution autopilot installs, refits where the network cabling is being refreshed, or helm electronics upgrades where the pilot controller, sensor core, and related Raymarine devices need a clean SeaTalkng connection path.

Key features
  • Complete Raymarine Evolution SeaTalkng cabling kit for autopilot network installation.
  • Includes both backbone and spur cabling, with 5 m of backbone cable and 0.4 m power and spur cables.
  • 5-way connector block helps organize multiple SeaTalkng connections near the helm or electronics area.
  • Two T-piece connectors allow individual SeaTalkng devices to branch from the backbone.
  • Two terminators are included for proper SeaTalkng backbone termination.
  • Useful for new installations, electronics refits, and replacing missing or incomplete Evolution autopilot network cabling.
Installation and setup

Use the backbone cable and connectors to form the main SeaTalkng path, then connect individual Raymarine devices through the spur cable, T-pieces, or 5-way block as the layout requires. The two terminators should be fitted at the backbone ends, because an unterminated or incorrectly terminated network can cause communication problems between autopilot and navigation components.

The 0.4 m power cable is intended to feed power to the SeaTalkng network. As with any boat electronics installation, route the cabling away from sharp edges, high-heat areas, and moving steering or throttle parts, and support the cables so vibration does not load the connectors over time.

Compatibility and fit

This kit is for Raymarine Evolution autopilot systems that use SeaTalkng networking. It is most relevant around the helm, electronics locker, or autopilot component area where short spur connections and a compact connector block can keep the network layout tidy.

Before installation, confirm the final cable lengths and connector positions against the vessel layout. The included 5 m backbone cable gives useful reach for many small to mid-size helm and equipment-bay layouts, while the 0.4 m cables are best suited for close device and power-feed connections.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
