Overview

The Garmin 010-12548-01 is a trim piece snap cover for GPSMAP 9x2 Series chartplotters, used to replace missing or damaged trim once the display is mounted at the helm.

It snaps into place around the bezel area to tidy up the edge of the installation and bring back a clean, finished look on the dash. Because it is trim and not a sun cover, it does not cover the screen when the unit is off.

Installation and care

With the display mounted and the area clean, align the snap cover with the trim edge and press it into place by hand. Work around the perimeter so it seats evenly without flexing the bezel.

On boats that see salt spray or sandy shoes, a quick rinse and wipe-down around the trim during washdowns helps prevent grit from building up at the edges.

Use on board

This part is handy after electronics service, console refits, or winter storage removal when the original trim did not make it back onto the unit. It also makes sense for open helm boats where exposed edges get scuffed from tackle, washdown hoses, and day-to-day use.
