Overview
The TACO Marine SuproFlex Semi-Rigid Medium is a rub rail kit for replacing or upgrading the protective rail around smaller boat hulls, with a 2" height and 1-1/4" width profile. It uses a semi-rigid vinyl backing with a firmer 95-durometer front and a flexible vinyl overlay insert, giving the hull edge a finished look while helping absorb routine contact at docks, slips, trailers, and rafting points.
This kit comes in one continuous coil in 60' or 80' lengths, depending on the selected variant. The continuous coil format helps reduce joints around the hull, while the predrilled profile, minimal heating requirement, and no pre-forming requirement make it practical for refits on center consoles, bay boats, bass boats, and similar boats in the 15 to 22-foot range.
Key features
- 2" x 1-1/4" medium SuproFlex profile for hull edge protection on smaller powerboats.
- Co-extruded construction combines a semi-rigid vinyl back with a 95-durometer front face.
- Shock-absorbing channels help manage everyday impact from docks, pilings, and close-quarters handling.
- Flexible vinyl overlay insert is included and fits this SuproFlex profile.
- Continuous 60' or 80' coil options reduce the need for extra seams around the boat.
- Predrilled rail saves layout time when fastening the profile to the hull.
- Requires no pre-forming and only minimal heating during installation.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Variants
This SuproFlex rub rail kit is offered in multiple configurations based on length, rub rail color, and insert color.
The 60' option is available in black with a black insert, while the 80' length is available in black with a black insert or Arctic White with an Arctic White insert. The 2" x 1-1/4" SuproFlex profile, flexible overlay insert style, and included stainless-steel end caps and screws remain consistent across the listed variants.
- V11-9993BBK60-2: 60' length, black rub rail, black insert. This length suits smaller hulls where a 60' continuous coil is enough to run the perimeter without buying excess material.
- V11-9993BBK80-2: 80' length, black rub rail, black insert. The longer black configuration works for boats that need more coverage while keeping a dark trim line around the hull.
- V11-9993WWK80-2: 80' length, Arctic White rub rail, Arctic White insert. The white configuration keeps the rub rail visually close to light gelcoat and deck styling.
Installation and fit
Measure the full perimeter of the existing rub rail path before selecting a length, including curves around the bow and stern corners. The rail is supplied as a continuous coil, so handling the coil with two people makes installation cleaner and helps keep tension even as it is fastened around the hull.
The predrilled profile helps with fastener placement, and the minimal heating requirement is useful when working around curves. As with any rub rail replacement, the hull edge should be clean and the old fasteners, sealant, and damaged backing material should be removed before the new rail is fitted.
Use cases on board
This kit is a strong match for owners replacing a worn or cracked rub rail on center console fishing boats, bay boats, bass boats, and other small craft that see regular dock contact. It is also useful during cosmetic refits when the goal is to refresh the hull line while keeping a practical impact buffer in place.
