Overview

The Garmin 010-12199-00 is a protective cover that fits snugly over compatible 4-inch echoMAP and echoMAP CHIRP displays, keeping the screen covered when the unit is not in use.

It helps cut down on UV exposure and splash on the face of the unit, and it keeps the display from getting scuffed by lines, tackle, or routine washdowns between trips.

This cover is sized for 4-inch echoMAP screens. If your unit is a different size or a different Garmin family, the fit will not be correct.

Installation and use on board

With the display mounted in its normal location, line the cover up with the bezel and press it into place until it sits evenly around the screen. To remove it, pull from an edge and lift it away.

Put the cover on after the unit is shut down and the screen is dry. If the helm was just washed down, wipe off standing water first so you are not trapping moisture against the display.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt spray off with fresh water and let it dry before long-term storage. Avoid harsh cleaners that can haze or soften plastic surfaces.
