Overview

The Simrad 000-14535-001 is a 24-inch dome radar (HALO24) that uses Doppler target coloring and pulse compression to keep close-range traffic readable while still reaching out to a 48 NM scale. At short ranges it can spin up to 60 RPM, so the picture refreshes fast when you are threading a channel, running in haze, or dealing with mixed traffic around the harbor.

It runs on 12V or 24V systems (10.5 to 31.2 VDC) and connects to a compatible Simrad MFD over Ethernet (100 Base T). The dome measures 610 mm in diameter and 225 mm high, weighs about 6.9 kg without cable, and carries an IPX6 water rating for exposed installations on a hardtop, arch, or mast platform.

Key features
  • 48 NM max range scale from a 24-inch dome, with pulse compression for usable detail at shorter ranges
  • VelocityTrack Doppler coloring helps show whether targets are moving toward you or away from you
  • Dual Range mode lets you view near and far ranges at the same time
  • Up to 60 RPM rotation at close range (up to 1.5 NM) for faster updates in tight quarters
  • Target separation control can narrow the horizontal beam to about 2° on High for better separation in clutter
  • Minimum range capability down to 6 m (19.7 ft) for close-in awareness around docks and moorings
  • 12V/24V compatible input (10.5 to 31.2 VDC), with a recommended 5A fuse
  • Ethernet 100 Base T network connection to supported Simrad multifunction displays
  • IPX6 water rating and operating temperature range of -25°C to +55°C
Installation and setup

Mount the dome where it has the clearest 360-degree view you can give it, with as little shadowing from masts, antennas, or a hardtop as possible. The dome footprint is 610 mm (24 inch) in diameter, so confirm you have enough flat area for the base and cable routing, plus clearance for the cable bend and drip loop.

Power is a simple red and black feed with a separate yellow power-control wire for how you want the radar to switch on and off. Keep the fuse or breaker close to the supply, and route the cable away from ignition wiring, high-current runs, and sources of heat. For the data side, the scanner uses Ethernet; seal the deck or hardtop penetration carefully and use the waterproof boot so washdowns do not wick water into the connection.

Compatibility and system integration

HALO24 ties into a Simrad MFD over Ethernet (100 Base T) and supports common radar viewing modes such as Harbour, Offshore, Weather, Bird, and Dual Range. If your boat already has an Ethernet backbone for sonar or radar, plan your port availability and cable routing before you drill, especially if the display is inside a console with limited access.

MARPA tracking is supported (up to 10 targets, or 20 in Dual Range mode) when paired with a compatible display setup. If your system uses radar overlay or advanced tracking features, make sure the rest of the network is set up to provide the heading and navigation data your display expects.

Use cases on board

This dome is a good match for smaller powerboats, center consoles, and sailboats that need a radar picture that updates quickly in close quarters without giving up the ability to watch weather cells farther out. Bird mode is also useful when you want to scan for surface activity while running offshore, as long as the radar is mounted high enough to keep the beam clear.

What’s included
  • Cable, RJ45 to 5-pin, 1.5 m (4.9 ft)
  • RJ45 waterproofing boot
  • 10 m cable for HALO dome radar
Maintenance and care

Rinse the dome with fresh water after salt exposure and wash with mild soap when needed. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents, and do not aim high-pressure spray directly at cable seals or connectors. Periodically check the mounting fasteners, cable strain relief, and the condition of the waterproof boot to keep water out of the connections over time.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
