Overview
The TACO Marine Thru Bolt Surface Mount Rod Holder is a surface-mounted rod holder for adding permanent rod storage to a boat without using a flush-mount tube cutout. It has a 1-3/4" inside diameter and is made from UV-stabilized high-density polyethylene, which suits exposed deck, cockpit, and fishing areas where sun and spray are part of normal use.
This rod holder uses a thru-bolt mounting style with pre-drilled mount access holes, so it is a practical fit where the mounting surface can be reached from the back side for secure fastening. It is available in white or black to match common deck hardware, trim, console areas, and fishing layouts.
Key features
- 1-3/4" inside diameter for rod storage on fishing boats, pontoons, and other marine layouts.
- Surface-mount format adds rod storage without the larger cutout required by many flush-mount holders.
- Thru-bolt mounting style gives a secure installation when the back side of the mounting surface is accessible.
- UV-stabilized high-density polyethylene construction helps the holder handle regular sun exposure on deck.
- Pre-drilled mount access holes simplify layout and fastening during installation.
- Available in white and black finishes for matching different cockpit, rail, console, or deck hardware areas.
- Made in the USA with a 1-year limited warranty.
Variants
This rod holder is offered in two color configurations with the same 1-3/4" inside diameter.
The color is the main difference between the variants, while the surface-mount thru-bolt format, UV-stabilized high-density polyethylene construction, and pre-drilled mount access holes remain consistent across the range.
- P04-011W: White. The white finish works well with light gelcoat, white deck hardware, and clean cockpit layouts where the holder should blend into the surrounding surface.
- P04-011BX: Black. The black finish suits darker trim, black hardware, console areas, and installations where a stronger contrast is preferred.
Installation and fit
Plan the mounting location around rod clearance, reel clearance, and access to the underside of the surface for thru-bolting. A flat, supported mounting area is important, especially in places that may see vibration, washdowns, or movement from rods while underway.
Because this is a surface-mounted holder, it is useful for adding rod storage to areas where a flush tube is not practical. Common applications include cockpit sides, pontoon fencing areas, console panels, and other solid mounting points that can accept bolts and backing as needed.
Use on board
This holder is a good match for boat owners adding straightforward rod storage for fishing days, dockside rigging, or keeping rods organized while moving around the cockpit. It is a simple hardware upgrade for layouts that need a fixed rod position without adding electrical, plumbing, or network integration.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
