Overview

The Garmin 010-02679-01 is a 6-inch class touchscreen chartplotter and fishfinder combo with a worldwide basemap and a GT54UHD-TM transom-mount transducer. The display is 800 x 480 resolution, the unit is IPX7 water-rated, and it runs on 9 to 18 VDC power for typical 12 V boats.

On the water, it covers the basics of navigation and waypoints while also giving you traditional CHIRP plus ClearVü and SideVü scanning views for finding structure and tracking bait or fish. It is a practical size for smaller helms where you still want side-scanning sonar without stepping up to a larger screen.

Key features
  • 6.2-inch diagonal touchscreen with keyed assist for quick control with wet hands
  • 800 x 480 display resolution
  • Worldwide basemap, with support for Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography
  • Built-in traditional CHIRP, ClearVü, and SideVü sonar with 500 W output
  • Includes GT54UHD-TM transom-mount transducer for traditional CHIRP, ClearVü, and SideVü sonar
  • Multi-band GPS with a 10 Hz receiver update rate
  • NMEA 2000 compatible for sharing and displaying data from supported onboard electronics
  • Built-in Wi-Fi for wireless sharing with compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 units and use with the ActiveCaptain app
Installation and fit

The unit measures 8.1 x 5.2 x 2.6 inches and weighs about 1.8 lb, which helps when you are working with limited dash space. It supports bail (bracket) mounting or flush mounting, and the included tilt and swivel bracket is the straightforward choice for most center consoles, bay boats, and compact helm stations.

Power input is 9 to 18 VDC. On 24 V boats, plan on a proper step-down converter so the chartplotter sees the correct voltage at the power leads.

Sonar and transducer setup

The included GT54UHD-TM is a transom-mount transducer, so placement matters. Mount it where it stays in clean water flow at speed, clear of strakes and steps, and where the cable can be routed up into the console without sharp bends or chafe points. Once installed, you can split the screen between charting and sonar or run a full-page sonar view when you are working structure.

The chartplotter also supports LiveScope sonar systems when paired with the appropriate LiveScope hardware and transducer.

Connectivity and system integration

NMEA 2000 support lets the display show compatible data from your network, such as AIS targets and DSC information, along with other supported sensors. Built-in Wi-Fi makes it easy to share user data like waypoints and routes with another compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 on the same boat, and it pairs with the ActiveCaptain app for updates and chart management.

Good match for

This is a good fit for anglers and cruisers who want a compact helm display with SideVü and ClearVü scanning, especially on smaller center consoles, aluminum fishing boats, and inshore rigs where space is tight but sonar detail still matters.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
