Overview

The Victron Energy BPP920140100 is a GX Tank 140 tank monitoring interface for connecting up to four compatible tank level sensors to a Victron GX monitoring system. It works with 4 to 20 mA current senders and 0 to 10 V voltage senders, including mixed sensor types on the same unit when each channel is configured correctly.

The unit connects to a GX device by USB and is powered through that USB connection, so it does not need a separate power feed for the GX Tank 140 itself. On a boat, this makes it useful for bringing fuel, fresh water, waste water, black water, oil, or live well tank levels into a Cerbo GX or other GX setup for local viewing, Remote Console access, and VRM monitoring.

Sensors are not included. This is the interface module used between compatible analog tank senders and the Victron GX system, so sensor range, wiring, and power requirements should be checked before installation.

Key features
  • Reads up to four tank level sensors through one GX-connected module.
  • Supports 4 to 20 mA current sensors and 0 to 10 V voltage sensors.
  • Connects and powers the GX Tank 140 through USB, reducing separate power wiring for the module itself.
  • Channels 3 and 4 include an internal 24 VDC supply for sensor excitation, with current limited to 20 mA per channel.
  • Channels 1 and 2 can distribute external sensor power through a fused power input.
  • Configurable upper and lower sensor values help match senders that use only part of the input range, such as 0 to 5 V sensors.
  • Configurable averaging from 1 to 60 seconds helps calm level readings when tank contents move underway.
  • Sensor and wiring fault detection can raise an alarm when values are outside the accepted range.
  • Tank data can be shown on the GX device, logged through VRM, and transmitted by the GX device onto an NMEA 2000 network for compatible displays.
Installation and setup

All wiring connections are made on the front of the unit with pluggable terminal blocks, which is helpful when working inside a console, electrical locker, or technical space where access is limited. A wiring schematic is printed on the top of the unit, so the channel terminals can be checked without hunting through paperwork during installation.

The GX Tank 140 mounts using the slotted flanges on the enclosure. Sensor cabling should be routed away from DC and AC power wiring where practical, and shielded twisted-core cabling is a sensible choice in engine rooms and other electrically noisy areas.

Compatibility and fit

This unit is for Victron GX systems and is commonly paired with a Cerbo GX. After connection, each tank channel is configured from the GX device settings or through Remote Console, including sensor type, empty and full values, fluid type, volume unit, tank name, and averaging time.

It is a good match for boats that already use Victron monitoring and need tank levels shown alongside battery, charging, inverter, and shore power information. It is especially practical for cruising boats, fishing boats, and workboats where tank status needs to be visible at the helm, on a GX Touch display, or remotely through VRM.

Monitoring on board

Once configured, tank levels can be viewed on the GX device screen and in the device list. When enabled, the boat and motorhome overview can show tank levels in a more practical dashboard layout for day-to-day use on board.

Through VRM, tank data can also be viewed remotely and logged over time. For marine electronics integration, the GX device can transmit tank level data onto an NMEA 2000 network so compatible multifunction displays can pick up the information.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
