Overview
The Attwood Marine 6556-7 is a round LED transom navigation light for pleasure craft up to 164 ft. (50 m) in length. It runs on 12V DC, draws 1.5W, and throws a 135 degree aft beam with 3 nautical miles of visibility.
This is a 3 inch surface-mount light with an electropolished stainless steel cover, so it suits transoms where space is limited but the fixture still needs to handle regular exposure at the stern. The aft-focused beam helps keep glare away from the helm on boats where the operator sits forward of the mounting point.
Key features
- 3 nautical miles of stern visibility for pleasure craft up to 164 ft. (50 m)
- 135 degree aft beam for proper transom light coverage
- LED light draws 1.5W on a 12V DC system
- 3 inch round housing fits compact transom mounting areas
- Surface-mount design with a snap-on cover that hides exposed fasteners
- Electropolished stainless steel cover for exposed aft deck and transom locations
Installation and fit
This light is intended for vertical transom mounting as part of a navigation light setup that uses a dedicated stern light. Before ordering, check the available flat mounting area on the transom, confirm that the 3 inch round body clears rails, ladders, or engine rigging, and make sure your boat uses a 12V DC lighting circuit.
The surface-mount layout keeps the installation straightforward on fiberglass and aluminum transoms where you want a fixed stern light rather than a pole-mounted fixture. The covered fastener layout also gives the finished install a cleaner look on the aft end of the boat.
Use on board
This light is a good match for pleasure boats that spend time running before sunrise, after sunset, or in reduced visibility where stern lighting needs to be easy to see from astern without throwing unnecessary light forward. It also makes sense for owners replacing an older round transom light and wanting LED efficiency with a stainless finish.

If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
