Overview

The TACO Marine GS-500 is a Pro Series Grand Slam outrigger mount pair for offshore sport-fishing boats that need deck-level lift and rotation control for compatible Carbon Fiber Tele-Outriggers up to 24 ft long. It is sized for boats from 32 ft to 50 ft and uses a Twist & Lock pole connection, so the poles can be secured without pins or bolts.

This mount suits serious trolling spreads where crew need to deploy, adjust, and stow outriggers safely from the deck. The base uses cast stainless steel and machined aluminum, with safety detents for controlled rotation and a locking head that helps stop the outrigger poles from creeping downward while in use.

Key features
  • Twist & Lock pole connection secures compatible Carbon Fiber Tele-Outriggers without pins or bolts.
  • Deck-level lift and rotation control keeps crew off the hardtop during setup and adjustment.
  • Compatible with Carbon Fiber Tele-Outriggers up to 24 ft long.
  • Suitable for offshore sport-fishing boats from 32 ft to 50 ft.
  • Cast stainless steel and machined aluminum construction handles the load, torque, and whip created by outrigger poles.
  • Safety detents help prevent uncontrolled rotation, with controlled 180 degree rotation available when needed.
  • Dual-detented lifting crank handle locks flush into the base, while the outward rotation handle gives a secure grip during adjustment.
  • Includes matching 6 in x 8 in x 1/2 in oval backing plates for added support at the mounting location.
  • No port or starboard designation, which simplifies layout and replacement planning.
  • Base hole pattern matches TACO Marine Grand Slam models, which can make upgrades cleaner on boats already using that footprint.
  • Pairs with optional 6 degree wedge plates, sold separately, when top angle or alignment correction is needed.
  • Backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit

The GS-500 is intended for hardtop and T-top outrigger installations where the mounting surface can support the load of a full offshore spread. The included oval backing plates help spread that load, but the top structure should be checked carefully before drilling, especially on older boats or tops that have been modified.

Because there is no port or starboard designation, the pair can be positioned without matching a dedicated left or right base. For arched tops or installations where pole alignment needs correction, compatible 6 degree wedge plates can be added separately.

Compatibility and use on board

This mount is built for use with Carbon Fiber Tele-Outriggers and should not be treated as a universal outrigger base for every pole style. It is a strong match for offshore center consoles and sport-fishing boats running trolling spreads, dredges, and repeated outrigger adjustments during long days offshore.

The Twist & Lock connection is especially useful for crews who want a cleaner pole connection process without lining up pin holes on a moving boat. The deck-level handles also make day-to-day use more practical when the outriggers need to be raised, rotated, or stowed during changing sea conditions.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
